Stevenage, UK

50 Cent has managed to find himself dragged into a controversy in the UK over former G-Unit affiliate Bang Em Smurf being housed in a hotel the government are using for asylum seekers.

A report in The Sun newspaper claims that Bang Em Smurf is being housed in a chain hotel in the British town of Stevenage after arriving in the country from Trinidad claiming that he needed “safety” from gangs on the Caribbean island.

The UK is currently housing thousands of asylum seekers who would not otherwise be able to afford accommodation in hotels though Bang Em Smurf is believed to have been based in Britain for several years.

The newspaper reported the story with the front page headline: “50 Cent Rapper Lives At Asylum Hotel.”

However, 50 hit back at the report and appeared to resent being dragged into the controversy.

Alongside a picture of the newspaper, 50 wrote on Instagram: “I haven’t spoken to this guy in 23 years, I hate that my name is attached to this. I in no way have any association or connection to gangs. I AM NOT GANG GANG!”

Bang Em Smurf also appeared to deny the report, saying: “There ain’t no story. You’re talking to the horse’s mouth. I’m telling you, that’s fake news.”

The G-Unit affiliate has previously claimed that his former boss once put out a hit on him.

He said to Report Card Radio: “Like these the n-ggas he running with? That confirmed he put a hit on me. That’s how it’s confirmed. That’s like how you said Preem and Ja put a hit on him, well I can confirm now, ’cause the same n-gga who tried to take a shot at me was the in that video, so fuck that who camp, n-gga. I’ll never be friends with none of that.”

He added: “The real niggas don’t fuck with Fif. If you see his new video ‘I’m the Man’, he’s got a lot of bozos in his video. Some of these niggas is Queens niggas. There’s lame niggas in that video so that’s why no one respect Fif no more. He lost his respect and the niggas he got around him, the streets don’t respect ’cause they know about ’em.”
