In an interview with 106KMEL’s Shay Diddy, Bay Area singer Kehlani divulged some highly personal details about her life as she spoke candidly about battling depression, protesting the national anthem, her stance on the #BlackLivesMatter movement, and the upcoming presidential election. The 21-year-old was noticeably excited she had just hit the legal drinking age and gushed about partying in Las Vegas to celebrate the occasion.

This was, however, Kehlani’s first sit-down interview since her public break-up with NBA star Kyrie Irving and eventual hospitalization, so the intensity of the interview was clearly turned up a notch.

With her single “Gangsta” hitting the Top 40 and “CRZY” steadily climbing the charts, Kehlani is ready to drop her debut album, SSS, which she also discussed in detail. Check out the interview in full above.
