Los Angeles emcee-producer duo OHNO (Rel$ and Infameezy) have been steadily building their fan base. Mixing a blend of relatable raps over infectious sound beds, the team’s notched wins with “Trynna Eat,” which just surpassed 415,000 Vevo views, as well as “1st Quarter Freestyle” which sits right around 165,000 views. And in the spirit of election season, they even made room to toss bars at the GOP’s flamboyant frontrunner, Donald Trump.
In this new video premiered by HipHopDX, “Me & My Bitch,” Rel$ and his lady are about about to embark on a heist when the situation flips suddenly at the last minute. “The ‘Me & my Bitch’ video was a message I am trying to push to my generation,” OHNO says before continuing, “which is to always think of the consequences of your action. Sometimes we get blinded by social media and lose track of who we are, in our attempt to succeed by any means. Repercussions are always on the back of mind…”
The video was directed by Toroh Films, who says “the concept of this video was to cinematically show the relationship between a couple as they live that ‘ride or die’ mentality for one another. We wanted to highlight the importance of good judgment and decision making because one wrong decision can drastically affect the one they love the most.”
Rel$ of OHNO stopped through #DXHQ recently and discussed the origins of the groups name and how producer Ohno reacted to the duo rocking a similar moniker. Take a look below and let us know what you think of “Me & My Bitch.”
