“One Man Can Change the World” serves as a homage to my late grandmother Mildred V. Leonard who went on to break through the ceilings of poverty, racism and sexism to become one of the first female Black Captains in WWII, before becoming one of the first Black female Police Officers in Detroit and serving an illustrious 30-year career with the Detroit Public School System as a teacher and counselor.
