In the fourth episode of Noiseys Chiraq series we see the focus switch from Chief Keef to another drill music rapper, Lil Durk. Durk “Lil Durk” Banks is a 20 year old rapper from Englewood, a prominent place in the drill music scene. Durk reflects on his childhood, discussing his father and the origination of OTF, the rap collective “Only The Family,” that he claims. Durk discusses how he “terrifies the city,” and how when a crime is committed, their music is often blamed. Durk discusses moving his kids to L.A. to move them out of Chicago, where young kids often are killed. Being compared to the legendary Black Panthers, Durk lets us know that he doesn’t want to be singled out as just a member of OTF, but instead wants to help out his community and open up places for young individuals to go and get out of trouble.
