Young Buck Says He Was Initially Given 2Pac Role In “All Eyez On Me” Biopic

Young Buck as 2Pac? According to the G-Unit rapper, he was supposedly told the role of Tupac Shakur in the All Eyez On Me biopic was initially his.

Buck sat down with DJ Smallz Eyes and shared his thoughts on the recently released film, hitting back at critics who have panned the storytelling and acting, saying he actually enjoyed the depiction of Pac’s life. But what was especially telling was Buck’s claim to DJ Smallz Eyes that the role — which eventually went to Demetrius Shipp, Jr. — was given to him by the film’s producers.

“People don’t know this, but I was supposed to play Pac,” Buck explained. “I was supposed to play Tupac Shakur, you understand? I didn’t get as far as going in and reading the scripts, and things of that nature, but I was lined up as one of those guys that was, I guess, considered to play 2Pac.”

Buck added he didn’t even have to audition for the role, but was thwarted by the emergence of Shipp, who the Cashville Records artist highly approves of judging by his comments that someone should “check his [Shipp’s] birth certificate.” He even quipped that fans should respect the actor’s portrayal.

    1. I fuck with BUCK, but him playing PAC come on man. You don’t even look like PAC…. the dude that played PAC damn look like PAC…. might be PAC long lost brother

    2. he said he was “considered” for the role lol what you think hes lying? The Outlawz & Young Buck – Gods Plan (2pac Dedication) kinda hard to tell noble and edi your usein pacs name for promo lol

    3. I don’t know why people act like it’s so hard to believe that he was CONSIDERED, not given the part. You don’t have to look exactly like somebody to play them in a movie. Jamie Foxx didn’t actually look like Ray. And the producers of the Pac movie said they had been through the entire search before finding Demetrius Shipp at the last minute. The southern accent would have been the deal breaker though. That shit would have been ridiculous. It was bad enough seeing a southern dude play MC Ren in Straight Outta Compton but he didn’t have the many lines so we could overlook it. That’s like doing a UGK biopic and getting 2 dudes from New York to play Pimp C and Bun B.
