YNW Melly Suffers Setback As Detective Determines Deadly Shooting Was Not A Drive-By

YNW Melly stands accused of staging a drive-by shooting to cover up the alleged murders of YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser, and now a forensic reconstruction has lent credence to that claim.

During the ongoing trial on Wednesday (June 28), crime scene detective Sgt. Christopher Williams — who was called to the witness stand by the prosecution — determined that the fatal bullets that killed the YNW members came from inside the car that they were riding in at the time of their death, not outside.

“The shooting happened from somebody inside the car,” Williams said as he recreated the crime scene for the jury. He added “the angles” of the projectiles going into the victims’ bodies “do not change,” and that he likely missed these details the first time around because he had been testing the scene for a drive-by.

Sgt. Williams went on to say that Juvy (real name Christopher Thomas Jr.) was shot in the head at close range from the left in the “middle of his cheek” while he was facing forward.

“Part of the wound had an abrasion ring on it,” he said of the entrance wound, citing the “tattoo of the stippling” as evidence.

The jury had previously seen surveillance video showing Melly in the left rear seat of the Jeep Cherokee that YNW Bortlen had been driving, with Juvy and Sakchaser (born Anthony Williams) in the front passenger seat and right rear seat, respectively.

The jury also previously listened to medical examiners who performed the autopsy and concluded that both victims suffered fatal gunshots to the head, with bullets entering from the left side.

This marks the latest piece of damning evidence to befall the embattled rapper since his murder trial began earlier this month. Prosecutor Kristine Bradley had previously shown a set of text messages to the court that were allegedly sent by YNW Melly to his mother months before the murders of his two friends.

The texts reveal that the rapper asked his mother for a gun back in August 2018, a mere two months before the pair were killed. “Get me a Glock ASAP,” read one of the texts. “Like go now … I just don’t want no illegal gun.”

Despite these setbacks, Melly has had a few victories in the case so far. Broward Circuit Judge John Murphy revealed last week that the prosecution failed to disclose a second forensics report that resulted in a discovery violation.

Because of this, the information will now be excluded from the trial. “Judge Murphy ruled @ynwmelly trial that Prosecution committed a discovery violation for failure to disclose a second forensics report,” she tweeted. “That information will now be excluded!”

YNW Melly was arrested and charged with two counts of premeditated murder in 2019 and faces life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. If convicted, he could get the death penalty.

    1. For a rapper that described the killing in his lyrics and has been guilty from day one! This sure is wasting allot of time and money. Another non talented one hit wonder rapper like XXXTentacion that stays in the headlines. When you mess with the devil and that Ouija board seeking fame….u famous now!

      1. Bruh you’re innocent till proven guilty just because you don’t like their music doesn’t mean you have to slander them

      2. It was a song they can’t use a song for evidence people rap about killing and the song murder on my mind don’t really explain why you think that he didn’t explain sitting in a car a shooting him so not evidence and I mean most rappers would be in jail for their rap songs so me personally don’t think a song is evidence and I personally think bortlen did it but it’s just a opinion and I understand but again a song is not evidence and plus most songs are not written by the rapper and it was made a 1 year before so idk I agree justice should be served for the family’s

      3. How many hits u got ? I bet your asshole is real succulent and ready for a pounding don’t worry Ima give u every inch for ur disrespect and I Got 15inches on me u ready ?

    2. He’s cooked. He needs his lawyer to get him to get a deal to take the death penalty off the table. Florida loves to execute motherfuckers so I’d be in that mode if I was him. There is no way he beats this.

    3. Ahhh. That rare look of looks incredibly guilty and IS incredibly guilty. This idiot. That crime scene was staged by a moron. Can’t count to 2 or spell IQ. Dude is so done. It’s a wrap.
