    Wale “The Gifted” Release Date, Cover Art, Tracklist & Album Stream

    In a minute-long album trailer, D.C. rapper Wale revealed both the release date and title for his third studio album. Titled The Gifted, the album is currently set for a June 25th release date.

    In the album trailer, which comes courtesy of director Chad Tennies, Wale possibly hints at the themes his new album may tackle as he briefly speaks on the music industry and being a hustler.

    “The hustler, priding his self on the very things they hate him for…The gifted. Aren’t we all? I said, aren’t we all,” Wale questions at the end of The Gifted trailer.

    The Maybach Music Group emcee previously commented on his third studio album during an interview with HipHopSince1987.com and shared that the project would be greatly similar to his earlier work.

    “I’m very excited about the music, because it’s very reminiscent of my earlier work with Mark Ronson and things of that nature. I’m excited,” said Wale in an October interview.

    Wale’s last studio album, Ambition, was released in November 2011 and featured appearances from Kid Cudi, Miguel, Rick Ross, and more.

    Earlier this year, Apple’s music store offered full previews to #1 album Vampire Weekend’s Vampires In The City as we as The National’s Trouble Will Find Me.

    40. Hes no Drake, has been given more chances than most people have had hot dinners and his biggest claim to fame is having made a song with Lady Gaga. He claims his forth album will involve Jerry Seinfeld, but seems more concerned with getting mad at sporting announcers and generally bringing shame to his hometown of DC. After bombing at Interscope, and abandoning his own sound for his first MMG LP, it seems that holding for Rawse is a pretty good deal for this troubled character.

      1. you really have no idea what you are saying bruh. First off, the gaga song was a single he didn’t even pick and it was heavily backed by the label and they pushed for that. That is probably one of the worst songs on his first album and it wasn’t even that bad. The first album as a whole is dope and was actually one of the best to come out that year but it was under shipped, again by design due to his labels decision, and it wasn’t marketed as well as It should have been. Regardless though, if you bought or listened to Attention Deficit then you know how good it was. Personally I didn’t like ambition, I thought it was him trying to appeal more to the masses instead of him just doing him but some people liked it and it helped him gain more notoriety, a larger fan base off of lotus flower bomb and now he probably has more people waiting for this one to drop.

      Overhated, but deserves it. He is an atrocious rapper. If it weren’t for him, the decay and commercialization of hip hop would not exist. The only two beefs he has won were with Lil’ Wayne and Rick Ross. I mean, Ja Rule spanked 50 Cents @$$, belive it or not. Ja is not a great rapper, but he is WAY better than Fif and gave him whippings and lashings to G-Unot. 50 Cent (and G-Unit) only won that beef because he got the help from lets see……Eminem, Dr. Dre, Busta Rhymes, Obie Trice, DMX, and the D-12. Yah really nice tough 50, you have to have 12 people on your side to win a beef. Despite common belief, Fat Joe is also a more capable rapper than 50 Cent. He could easily beat 50 in a fight, (at least at the early part of the beef; Fat Joe is in his 40s), has way better music and songs than 50, and better street cred. And New York does not want to kill Joe, unlike Fif. Saying 50 is better than Fat Joe, is overrating 50. 50 Cent was OK during Power of the Dollar, but thats it. And Fat Joe is not that great. And the only reason 50 is hated so much is because he purposely picks beefs with other people, just to jump start his career. G-Unot is the worst rap group after Young Money (I find ICP more G than G-Unot). The ONLY decent person in G-Unot is Lloyd Banks…and he is even gay for d-ck riding 50 Cent. 50 Cent is overrated as a ‘gangster’. He is more of a wankster, realistically. If he has to keep reminding the public of how ‘tough’ he is, then he wack. He is also a douche for stealing the name of a famous New York gangster. Even Benzino is more G, and can rap better than him. And finally………………………what kind of ‘G’ hangs does vitamin water commercials and raps about the ‘Candy Shop’?????????????????????????????? btw, the Game haters are all 50 Cent d-ck riders. Gggggggggggggggggggg unot!!!

In his preteen years, he started writing raps and freestyles which were mad wack. But then he met “Birdman” Bryan Williams, who mentored him and encouraged him in his wackness.

      “My parents tell me I should stay in school and study drama because I’m actually good at it”, Weezy said.

      “No, no,” Williams replied. “You have a very special gift, Wayne.”

      “My friends tell me my raps is wack. They say I’ve got no talent.”

      “You do have talent, Weezy,” assured Birdman. “It’s just… invisible. It’s so special that people usually can’t see it. You’re that great Weezy. You’re so great that normal people can’t see how great you are.”

      So Williams surrounded the young Weezy with Juvenile, Turk, and B.G., along with constant praise for his wack-ass rhymes. And the young Wayne continued rapping, slowly growing his ego on the fetid stew of his jumbled wordplay.

      I heard somebody say, “Church!” I’m gonna need a suit,
      I’m gonna need a coupe, I won’t need a roof,
      Flyer than Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.

      Soon enough Wayne had developed a following. He claimed to be the greatest rapper alive and people believed him for some reason. Glowing reviews from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Blender, The Guardian, The Source, and many others, resulted in Weezy being crowned emperor of all Hiphopland.

      In honour of his completely ridiculous commercial and critical success, Weezy returned to his hometown of Raptown for a celebratory parade. And throughout the parade he proudly displayed his beautiful, invisible talent.

      Don’t you hate a shy bitch? Yeah I ate a shy bitch.
      She ain’t shy no more, she changed her name to me, bitch.

      The crowd was taken by his “unique” and “unusual” flow. They cheered at the “originality” of his rhymes, saying things like, “Man, I wouldn’t have thought of rhyming those lines together!”

      All except one little boy. This child was too young to find out about hype MCs on the internet and read reviews on hip-hop blogs. He was not yet old enough to realise that Pitchfork is right about everything. He only had his own ears, and a tiny magic compass in his brain that told him whether or not he liked what he was listening to. And at this parade, despite the enthusiasm of his family and peers, the tiny magic needle of his tiny magic compass was firmly, unequivocally pointing to “W”, as in “Wack”.

      Under his breath, almost unconsciously, he muttered, “This shit is wack”. A few people heard him over the crowd’s noise and stopped dead in their tracks.

      “What did you say?” they inquired, unsure if they’d heard correctly.

      This time more people were listening. “It’s wack,” the boy reiterated, louder this time. More heads turned. “Mad wack,” he declared boldly. A nearby woman fainted. “Wiggidy wack!” he yelled out with conviction.

      There was a collective gasp, and the crowd fell into a hush. Wayne did not immediately notice, and rapped a final couplet in the awkward silence.

      Swagger tighter than a yeast infection,
      Fly go hard like geese erection.

      The words hung heavy in the air. They pierced through the pure consciousness of the listeners. Slowly, they began to understood the words as they truly were, their ears unhindered by the mad hype, their minds newly coloured by the young child’s naive honesty.

      The air was still for a few moments. Then…

      “Um… that doesn’t make any sense”, one brave soul ventured.
      “Yeah, uh… that’s just stupid”, added another.
      “Geese erection? What?”

      The crowd dispersed, mumbling to themselves, a little bit pissed off that they’d been duped. A handful of people bought the little boy a candy and offered him a position writing for their blog, which he turned down because he would rather play outside. Wayne, still convinced of his own greatness, freestyled non-sequiturs into the sunset, and everybody else lived happily ever after.
