Wale Compares Third Album To His Earlier Work

Wale is currently gearing up for his Maybach Music Group tour in support of their latest album Self Made Vol. 2, but he isn’t slowing down on his solo career. During an interview with HHS1987, the D.C. native said that the project will recall his earlier work with Mark Ronson on Attention Deficit and said that his latest track, “The Arrival,” is a snapshot of his current situation.

“Right now, we touring and I got an album dropping in February, Meek’s album drops later this month, October 30th. I’m very excited about the music, beacuse it’s very reminiscent of my earlier work with Mark Ronson and things of that nature. I’m excited. And ‘The Arrival’ is a mission statement of where I’m at.”

    1. This is good news! I mean, I know artists are supposed to grow and try different sounds and things of that nature, but Ambition was a step back from Attention Deficit. We want the lyrical Wale back!

      1. Dude I agree 100% with your comment. Attention Deficit was a more balanced album than Ambition due to the lyrical content. Glad to see Wale drop another album next year.

      2. Man, I respect peoples personal opinions, but what are y’all smoking saying Attention Deficit was better than Ambition? He wasn’t any less lyrical on Ambition. The songs and production were better. You could say his topics were a little deeper on A.D., but that’s about it

      3. Attention Deficit is WAY better! He dumbed down the lyricism and his flow was even a little lazy on a couple of tracks from Ambition. It’s still a good album though..

      4. the vibe of 11-1-11 theory was bangin
wale just needs to work on being him and not trying to fit in with the cheesy mainstream.
my only complaint of wale is that his records albums whatever tend to get old by the end.
love the lyrics but there sure are alot of em leaves my head hurtin after half of a disc.
if i were his producer i would get him to work on changing up his flow and sound of his voice more through out the record.
I think he should go in a madlib dilla rough sounding direction and not so trendy.
        just sayin…

    2. It be nice if he started working with 9th Wonder again, then we could have a ligitamate discussion about comparing stuff to his earlier work.

    3. sorry guys wale is the only person in the maybach clique with talent and honestly they are holding him back and don’t even deserve him in my opinion
watch live footage from all dem niggaz and you will see who can actually bring it to tha stage without a backup track hint hint meeky cheeky
