Travis Scott is slowly but surely plotting his comeback into rap’s mainstream. Almost six months after the Astroworld Festival tragedy that claimed 10 lives last November, La Flame has booked his first public performance.
According to TMZ, Travis Scott will be heading to Miami’s E11EVEN nightclub to rock the stage on May 7. The performance is set to be followed by a DJ set from his close friend and collaborator Chase B.
Travis Scott will be in town for Miami’s busy race week with the Formula One Grand Prix taking place the following day. Promo flyers have popped up on E11EVEN’s website, with tickets reportedly available for $150 for women and $250 for men. VIP tables are going for as much as $100,000.
The 30-year-old rapper has been inching toward making a return ahead of his new album UTOPIA. Scott performed at a Coachella afterparty earlier in April, as well as at a pre-Oscars gig in Bel Air, California.

On the music side, La Flame unleashed his first guest verse since the Astroworld tragedy when he hopped on Future and 808Mafia leader Southside’s “Hold That Heat” last week.
According to Southside, Trav essentially played the role of A&aR by getting Future to join the fold on the record.
“Me and Trav actually made this record, and I met back up with him months later, and he was like, ‘Bro, you gotta put this on your album. I gotta put Future on it,’” the producer told Billboard. “He ended up going around Future and getting it done and sent it to me like, ‘This [is] your single.’ Trav’s my real friend.”
Fans can expect Travis Scott’s UTOPIA to arrive later this year.

I really loved Trav’s music, but what happened is on him. He may not have planned security or the layout of the crowd that led to those deaths, but at shows in the past he’s encouraged stupid, reckless behavior. Going forward he needs to keep the crowd under control. If an idiot wants to jump from the rafters tell him to stop. Don’t encourage fans to rush on stage despite security. And, most importantly, HELP THE VICTIMS’ FAMILIES!
