The Game’s 25 Best Songs Listed

On the eve of the release of The Game’s The Documentary 2 album, Complex has compiled a list of “The 25 Best Game Songs.”

The grouping features “My Life,” his 2008 collaboration with Lil Wayne. Included on the Compton, California rapper’s LAX album and produced by Cool & Dre, the song features stellar performances from both rappers, Complex says.

“This isn’t Peak Auto-Tune Wayne, but it’s close, and trite Kurt Cobain reference aside, this is the Game nearing his apex too,” the story says. “The Game has never been a hypertechnical or super interesting rapper; his strength lies mostly in his distinctively gruff voice and how he uses it to maneuver in and out of beats, and on ‘My Life’ he saunters carefully through the Cool & Dre production, matching its tone.

Another selection highlighted is “Doctor’s Advocate,” the title track from The Game’s 2006 album that features Busta Rhymes. The song details The Game’s departure from Aftermath and fallout with Dr. Dre.

“The two make an earnest case for something resembling forgiveness, if not simply solace,” the Complex story says. “The Game has never been afraid to confront the things plaguing him in public head on, and this is probably the best example of that, with self-aware, searingly critical raps.

“Church for Thugs,” a cut from The Game’s 2005 debut album, The Documentary, is also included on the list.

“The Just Blaze-produced ‘Church for Thugs’ is one of the hardest-hitting records on the rapper’s classic debut with explosive production that houses a heavy, hydraulic bounce,” Complex says. “Spitting like the ‘Ghost of Eric Wright,’ the Game talks being a trafficker and dares those making threats on his life to test him at their own peril.

    1. Actually cant hate on the list, pretty legit for the most part except knockin Ol English off the list – especially not as number 2, and replacin with that The Purge. And ya gotta have Start From Scratch on there too

    2. And now a list with the best 25 flows Game has stolen from other rappers like: Shyne, Dre, Kendrick , Nas, Biggie, Outkast, Jeezy, Kanye etc.

      1. i just listened 2 fist half of games album and i thought the same shit..was a good album but he stole someones flow atleast 1 time a song..wtf

    3. It’s Crazy niggas talk about Game stealing flows when it takes actual talent to do so. Name another rapper with the skillset to change his flow to whatever he likes.

      1. Exactly. And he literally tells them to go in the booth and copies the style they use. Makes it look so easy.
