When asked if he has any updates on Jay Electronica’s next album, producer Just Blaze had little to share, but did reveal that he has a “nearly-finished version” of the album on his phone.

While speaking with Vlad TV, he explained that the fate of the album rests solely with Jay, who he says is currently “chillin’ out in London.”

“I don’t have any updates since the last update I gave, which was I have a pretty, nearly-finished version of it in my phone,” Just Blaze said. “I don’t know what he’s gonna do with it. He’s chillin’ out in London. He’s doing well. Jay’s life philosophy is ‘My train is running on schedule.’ That’s how he lives his life.”

In 2013, Just Blaze offered a similar update on Electronica’s album when he shared that the album was “pretty much done,” and added that the rapper was moving “at his own pace.”

Prior to offering a brief update on the status of Jay Electronica’s album, Just Blaze recalled the moment he and the New Orleans, Louisiana rapper crafted his “Exhibit C” record.

He says the song was one they crafted last minute to give to Power 105.1 radio personality Angela Yee, who had her own radio show at the time.

“We did ‘Exhibit C’ just to do it,” he said. “That’s why I say at the end of the record ‘Sometimes the things that we do—We’re not even trying, are better than things that people put a lot of effort into.’ I forget exactly how I worded it…He was like ‘Let’s make a record and take it up to Angela Yee.’ I said ‘Alright, let’s do it.’ So, we started doing it around 11:30 that night…I knew the record was special from the moment I started putting the track together.”
