Tekashi 6ix9ine & Nicki Minaj’s ‘TROLLZ’ Suffers Historic Fall From No. 1 On Billboard Hot 100

Fan interest in Tekashi 6ix9ine and Nicki Minaj’s “TROLLZ” single proved to be fleeting following its No. 1 debut on the Billboard Hot 100. Just one week after entering at the top of the chart, the song plummeted to No. 34 in one of the worst declines in Hot 100 history.

“TROLLZ” suffered the second-worst skid from No. 1 in over 60 years, only outdone by Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Two decades after it was originally released, her holiday tune went from being atop the January 4, 2020 chart to off the Hot 100 completely on the January 11 listing.

Unlike Carey, 6ix9ine and Nicki don’t have the benefit of a holiday season changing to explain their fall. The two have the undesirable record of the steepest drop from No. 1 to another spot on the chart, which was previously held by The Weeknd. The XO Records singer’s “Heartless” fell from No. 1 to No. 17 in December 2019.

“TROLLZ” suffered a dramatic decrease in sales and streaming numbers in its second week. The single sold roughly 9,000 copies (down 92 percent) and pulled in 13.8 million streams in the U.S. (down 62 percent) for the week ending June 25.

Despite the downturn, 6ix9ine and Nicki’s collaboration actually experienced a significant uptick in radio play. The song had 2.3 million airplay audience impressions, marking a 97 percent increase from the 1.2 million impressions in its week at No. 1.

“TROLLZ” was 6ix9ine’s first track to ever reach No. 1 on the Hot 100. Nicki previously topped the chart with her guest appearance on Doja Cat’s “Say So” remix in May.

    1. Just like I suspected with Gooba, this dweebs label was prob shelling millions of that 10M deal into Chinese Bot to stream his numbers up. By a huge score too. His actual music is trash and that’s what he cant get. His style was cool to kids 2-3 years ago. Now theyve moved on to the next mumble tard like Lil Mosey. He also is pretty gimmicky, the rainbow hair, flashly life and fuck you mentallity loses its “edge” after you debut. Called it, interest would wane before the years over. In a few years I doubt he will be alive much less making music good enough to pay the bills. If the label realises he’s a complete money sink and they are taking a huge financial hit, he will probably owe them millions, at which point private security and the ability to relocate dry up as do his royalties. This dumb ass is going to wish he took the Witness Protection once his bank account runs out

      1. If they were paying for bots he would have staying on top weeks. He got his number and it could never be undone

      2. do u understand how this works? legit listen to anyone who is near the business talk about how billboard works. this kid had #1 and #2 views for hip hop in one day ever. your a complete and absolute moron

    2. 50 idiotic Barbz buying 50 copies each shouldn’t make a song number 1. That’s what happens lol. They had 4 different versions and the stans bought multiple copies until they ran out of pocket money . The Barbz are officially broke

    3. Well they reached their goal with no radio play. So now it has to catch up with everyone that has massive annoying radio play that plays every 30 min. So they won…and both have new music coming out and will again reach #1 and break more records. And even though it dropped…it’s still charting top 40!!!!! Congratulations!!!

    4. Did you just write that that’s his first song to ever hit number one?Do you report from a cave?Every single song he’s dropped has hit number one and that can be easily looked up

    5. Dude is trash only teeny boppers and cornballs listen to him he’s literally the least talented of his class and relies on gimmicks and heavy push from those Culture Vultures over at 10 K Projects

      1. Thats who listens now tell me who reads and comments on him im gonna say half of the dynamically Gay Duo. That means u and your in da closet ass krew either way love him or hate him he stays in your mouth

    6. Who cares. The worst drop off is Mariah Carey’s all I want for Christmas – which still got tonnes of Radio play as on Dec 2019 and is a Christmas classic. Billboard scares me lately. How they tally streams vs sales vs packages. Good luck!

    7. anything to try to denounce tekashi.. i love it. no worries his akon song gonna drop and do numbers and then u can “report” on that.

    8. But he wasn’t trying to stay there forever geniuses!!! No radio play snitch boy got what y’all said he couldn’t do and making money!!! Focus. Member what you hatin for ladies!!

    9. This is what happens when record companies buy streams. When they stop, shit flop, because in actual true life not too many peopme listens to that garbage ass.
