Snoop Dogg Just Dropped His Gospel Album “Bible Of Love”

After teasing a gospel album last May, Snoop Dogg has delivered his godly effort, Bible Of Love.

Featuring a wide array of guests appearances, including Faith Evans, music legend Patti LaBelle, West Coast rap vet Daz Dillinger and Doggystyle Records’ signee October London, the soulful effort clocks in at 32 tracks.

It’s a hard left from The Doggfather’s latest offerings — Make American Crip Again and the 220 EP — which were a return to Snoop’s gangsta rap roots.

(The original version of this article was published on February 3, 2018 and can be found below.)

Snoop Dogg said this would happen. During an interview with Beats 1 Radio last May, the O.G. Long Beach rapper revealed he was working on a gospel album and now, we have a release date and title. According to iTunes, Bible of Love, Snoop’s 32-track double album will arrive on March 16.

To mark the occasion, the D-O-Double-G has unveiled the seven-minute album closer, “Words Are Few” featuring B. Slade, and an accompanying visual.

As Snoop explained to Beats 1 last year, “It’s always been on my heart. I just never got around to it because I always be doing ‘gangsta’ business or doing this or doing that. I just felt like it’s been on my heart too long. I need to do it now.”

On Thursday (February 1), Snoop made an appearance at the 19th annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration in Minnesota. While on stage, Snoop reportedly touched on the album and explained, “The record’s all about love from start to finish. That’s the way you change the world, by putting love in it.”

Snoop has reinvented himself a few times over the years. In 2013, he adopted the persona Snoop Lion and dropped a reggae album called Reincarnated. Most recently, he went back to his gangsta rap roots for Make America Crip Again, which he delivered last October.

Bible of Love features several guest vocalists, including Tye Tribbet, the Clark Sisters, Faith Evans and Rance Allen.

    1. Umm… Not sure how to absorb this new endeavor Snoops taken. This project should have been something he overseen by bringing in artists who could effectively carried his vision vocal-wise, executive produced it and featured himself on certain records instead of a fullblown Snoop album. That way the legacy that he’s built over the years isnt tarnished with a very off kiltered and out of place album. Maybe thats exactly what he did. It’s kinda too early to tell. But if that wasn’t his approach, then this album may turn out to be the big dud in his extensive catalog, and he clearly could have pulled this off better. There’s some really great gospel rap artists with great albums like LeCrae and John Gives where Snoop could have taken a similar approach without compromising himself as the artists we’re familiar with him as. I guess we’ll have to wait for the outcome when it’s released.

    2. This is what happens when you stay in the game too long. He went from snoop dogg, to snoop pimp, to wiz khalifa’s weird old uncle, to snoop lion, to snoop Magdalene.

        1. I feel you. But that’s because nas and joe probably have enough pride to not panic and reinvent themselves to stay relevant. Joe will keep dropping one hit every 5 years. And Nas will still hang on to illmatic

    3. Damn that’s ?
Love how he keeps experimenting. Yes I would love a return to the g funk album but a bit of g funk soul music is important too. Beautiful song man.

    4. This some corny ass $hit! is Snoop Lion having a midlife crisis or something? Sounding like R.Kelly wrote his bars haha anyway You crip today and sing gospel tomorrow, wonder whats next once the ‘gospel’ fad fades on some “Kanye west inspired the life of pablo is a gospel album shit” SMH!

    5. Didn’t he convert to Islam? He be bouncin all over the place. Then he be talking peace and in the same breath talking that gangsta
sh*t . And then he luv the kids but he be smoking blunts. That’s whatz up with these studio gangstas, they be fakin the funk.

    6. Ahh…Snoop and DMX….just two dogs preaching the good word through music. Every Dog has his day

    7. Snoop is ruining hiphop culture. He’s as harmful as Desiigner, Lil Xan or Fatty Wap. Having classics in your back catalogue is not an excuse for spreading shitty music and feeding the youth with trash.

    8. lol at all of your ignorant Comments Snoop is worth 100’s of Millions of Dollars and still doing BIG THANGZ….Jokers Wild , MaRtha, Coach Snoop. Gin ambassador, Etc…..Snoop can do what he wants.I dont find a Gospel Album to be bogus noone is perfect. We all go through many phases in life. Many great men in the Bible killed and did many atrocious things any hippocrites and broke critics …..

      1. Snoop’s the biggest hypocrite in rap. He has the face of a hypocrite rat too, so his looks match his character perfectly.

        1. Going from a gangster rapper, to a self proclaimed reincarnation of bob Marley, calling for peace, then making an album called Make America Crip Again, then going Gospel is “maturity”? Nah. Snoop is very childish. Nobody even listened to “make americancrip again” because seriously… that’s so corny and not wanted by the public. Gang life isn’t cool, neither is that album title.

          1. Just took him till grandpa age and yep talking about killing the presidents realllllll mature this guys a fuckin clown and gonna die with a 10 year olds mind

    9. Snoop…. the studio gangster, self proclaimed reincarnation of bob Marley, who preaches peace and love, and also making America crip again… damn clown…

        1. So? Is money all hat matters to you? Sure, money gets you places. And who wouldn’t wanna be rich… but I wouldn’t want to be like Snoop. He’s a phony, and has liked his own career, after having one of the greatest hip hop debuts in history. Snoop has oversaturated the game so much that people don’t even wanna hear doggystyle anymore because his voice alone is played out. He should have gone into rap retirment around the time he dropped tha blue carpet treatment.

    10. Snoop doing a gospel album is the equivalent of Jay doing a country album with guest appearances by Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Blake Shelton, Chris Stapleton, Shania Twain, and Florida/Georgia line.

    11. I ain’t no BIG SNOOP DOG hater I wish him love and blessings. But BigDogg figure it out is it the god of ganster rap ‘Jah Rastafari’ are Jesus Christ who you praising/serving? i aint here to judge no 1 im just saying … I hope you find out before your times out WTF-walk That Faith

    12. with all this celebritys pushing the satanic agenda is good to see somebody still bringing god into the picture

    13. Gospel music is satanic. Snoop is a fucking clown. How u go from make amerikkka crip again to a foolish ass gospel album? Ain’t nobody listening to that shit. Snoop is ALL GIMMICKS!!

    14. At the time I thought a new Dogg Pound album would be coming out as they just released some hot tracks, this Muthfucka announces a gospel album! Better be kidding me!

      1. His discog is mostly black orientated releases tho plus he did two funk centered albums (one is a collab with DaM FunK) and a 70’s throwback song tho rock Snoop would be funny asf

    15. This dudes pulling a ma$e n huslin the church ppl…n sum r too dumb to recognize…im a follower of Christ (refuse the word Christian for connotation purposes, n being grouped in with the false ones, the hypocrites, n judgemental)…where the diplomats when u need em, to call him out lol…this dudes tryna bank on any and every genre and belief system cuz him n gangsta rap r washed up n dont sell records…if hes truly seeking truth, he’d pick up a sum books n study belief systems…not make an album every 2 yrs with a new one n then put out another album within weeks of it contradicting that same faith he claims….dude’s fraudulent n ne one who cant c thru the transparency n simple rhyme schemes n surface “praise the Lord” songs is blind…hes jus leeching on those who lack true spiritual discernment in the church…plus, the music’s whack…

      1. Plz don’t be the typical Christian with your judgement …how do you know his “personal” relationship with Christ…might b a word in their that can save even just one soul..

        1. No, ur completely right on that aspect of it…n based on what I believe, a tree could also b what somehow could b what causes one to began that journey somehow….I guess in some ways I was being judgemental and ill accept that, n apologize becuz I probably did come across that way. My point is, I have no doubt in my mind what he’s personally doing with this album, when the next is a gangsta rap album called make america crip again…BUT i’m not wrong in saying that if he was truly livijng a faith he claims, the other album would not b released….God bless him for being a vessel for God if he ends up being used to save ANY soul…but his PERSONAL reasoning doesnt come across as sincere…n if im wrong, ill accept that fault…I just cant understand the contradiction…he’s not ur average joe where his sin is his sin n thats between him n God, the gangsta rap album could also b wut ruins one soul, hes an entertainer, who some impressionable youth could take influence from…so i mean that can b considered from both angles…my point is…”by their fruits you will know them”…i dont think gangsta rap would b fruitful…its beautiful if that album gets to some n they end up saved, but I cant c how hes doing anything different from the reggae albums…hes seeking appeal from a different genre to cash in… I dont know his heart…i just know that visually, it doesnt add up…n i dont personally trust that theres too much sincerity behind it…only God knows…but I’m just stating my opinion…believe me when I say, I was the worst of the worst before I got saved, but to be saved is to turn from ur old ways and by releasing the crip album…isnt turning away from it at all…its just doing tfhe same as he always had…that doesnt mean to he should b perfect, none of us r,thats why Christ was crucified, n we’re gonna still sin… but hes a role model on a pedestal, n his words do mean something to some ppl, n he has to take that into account if his faith is real…whether thats good influence or bad influence, n u cant have both worlds…it doesnt work that way…these blog things at the bottom r to state our opinion n thats my personal one…im not God n dont know if hes truly seekingv, but hes coming across a lot more as milking

          1. In addition, the whole “only God can judge” thing is played out.. we are called to never judge the non-believer, but as Christ followers, we ARE called to judge the “believer” who in their sin could cause another brother to stumble i.e. make america crip again…if he claims Christ, I have all right to judge his actions…its spoken of numerous times by Paul the apostle in the new testament…if one is saved, it means to die to the flesh and live thru the spirit…its not so simple as “only God can judge” once you enter the realm of speaking on living your life for Christ, its much more complex. If he wanted to continue on with his doggystyle, doggfather type rap u wouldnt c me speak on it…but when u speak on a walk with God n then in the same year have urself in a video killing trump(who i personally have zero respect for) and make a gangsta rap album about shooting ppl n smoking blunts(that he apologized to God for in his first single) he comes across as the same old snoop dogg…I just dont see it…i’m judging a man who’s a so called brother in Christ, not the non-believing gangsta rapper whom i’d b called to pray for and love, and given the opportunity to reach out to. Once he crossed the line of a claim to my faith, it gives me the God-given right to call it how i c it…this is deeper now…n too many have this “only God can judge” belief, but once in Christ, comes the right to speak to/on them differently…so the only God can judge has withered away, if he had a line in a song, even had a song about God, on a gangsta rap album…i’d b silent…he went all the way with a full on gospel, requiring him to express himself from now on differently…i dont know ur faith nor biblical knowledge, nor seek dis-respect either, but the truth is…its no longer judgemental when he’s fully staking claim in giving his heart to Christ…so now is the time to prove it…he may b just beginning and learning, and at which point I have less right to judge than i do to guide, but again this seems more a cash-in than a man’s true journey to seek…he’s changed belief systems 3 times in the past 5 years, taken on about 6 different personas, what gives me reason to believe this is different?

    16. Can’t believe this the same guy that made doggystyle SMH! Album was wack, a couple of dope songs like love for God, Pain and Crown. He pulled a Dj Khaled on us. I’m bout ready to be done with Snoop!

    17. I love Snoop. The man made Doggstyle for God’s sale and some underrated joints too (Tha Last Meal, Tha Blue Carpet Treatment, Top Dogg, Bush…) But that gospel shit is just BS? WTF happened to him ?

      1. Responded to the wrong person…my b, phone died sum weird stuff…i was responding to maybe its trues comment below

    18. This man spreading love and some of y’all on here hating him for it. I doubt he makes much money if any at all with all the guest appearances and the fact gospel music don’t sell like that. Only bitter people read a article with an intent to leave a bad comment. If you don’t listen to him or like him why even click on it. Stupid!

      1. This is an asshole who said the creator of the Crips is one of the best people in the world. That is not what good people say. This bozo has spread more hate and garbage through his music and now wants t do some crap like this to make up for his years of sinning.

        1. Focus on the message and not the messenger. Most authors of the Bible did horrible things

    19. No problem with gospel or gospel rap. Just clown ish. Snoop has destroyed his legacy with all of his gimmicks. Snoop crip, snoop pimp, snoop lion, back to snoop crip, now snoop jesus.
