Kid Rock decided not to renew his lease for his Made in Detroit restaurant inside Little Caesars Arena earlier this week. Now, he’s catching the wrath of Royce Da 5’9 after making some disparaging comments about the Slaughterhouse vet’s hometown.
In a Facebook statement, the confederate flag-waving rapper blasted the City Of Detroit, expressing why he felt forced to make that decision while simultaneously showing his support for Donald Trump with a “Trump 2020” at the end.
“I will not be renewing my licensing agreement for my Made In Detroit Restaurant this April,” Kid Rock wrote. “I appreciate all who have patronized our place and still have much love for the City of Detroit and the people / organizations that I have helped there for years, black, white, whatever, but learned long ago, go where you’re celebrated, not tolerated.I guess the millions of dollars I pumped into that town was not enough.
“I will let the NAN network and others go ahead and take the wheel now. Good luck. I may be guilty of being a loud mouth jerk at times, but trying to label me racist is a joke, and actually only does a disservice to the black community, which I have supported my entire life, by trying to alienate myself and many others.”
Royce fired back via Twitter, imploring Mr. Rock to keep his mouth shut.
“Please shut the fuck up and get a publicist before you start a fire that can only be put out by the people who aren’t interested in your ‘millions of dollars,'” Royce tweeted.
Kid Rock has received a healthy amount of backlash over the past week after going on a seemingly drunken rant about Oprah at a Nashville bar.
“I’m like, Oprah Winfrey or Joy Behar, they can suck dick sideways,” Rock said as he motioned toward his crotch. “Fuck Oprah Winfrey and fuck Kathie Lee Gifford.”
He later repeats the “suck dick sideways” phrase multiple times, specifically mentioning Winfrey.
