Rihanna and Kid Cudi are in the running for Emmy awards with a number of nominations at this year’s ceremony, and they’ve both taken to social media to share their reactions.
RiRi’s Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show performance was nominated for five awards, including Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special, Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Music Direction, Outstanding Variety Special (Live) and Outstanding Technical Direction and Camerawork for a Special.

As for Kid Cudi, his Netflix special Entergalactic was nominated for Best Animated Program, marking his first ever Emmy nomination.
Rihanna took to Instagram on Wednesday (July 12) to reveal her excitement about the five nominations.
“Pull up breed up 2 d bashment… 5 EMMY NOMZ is craaaaazzzyyy!!!” she wrote next to a handful of behind-the-scenes photos from her Super Bowl set. “Im so grateful for every single person involved in creating these memories!”
Kid Cudi took to Twitter to react to the “insane” nomination his show received.
“ENTERGALATIC IS EMMY NOMINATED!!!!” he wrote. “YES YES YESSSSSSSSS!!! OMG WTF THIS IS INSANE!!!!! THANK U GOD.

The 2023 Emmy nominees were announced on Wednesday, with Succession racking up 27 nominations, along with fellow HBO shows The Last of Us and The White Lotus receiving 24 and 23 nominations, respectively.
JAY-Z also earned two nominations for executive producing Rihanna’s Super Bowl show in the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) and Outstanding Directing For a Variety Special categories. He previously won an Emmy for Dr. Dre’s Super Bowl show in 2022.
