Open Mike Eagle Drops “Brick Body Kids Still Daydream” Album

Open Mike Eagle has swooped in with his latest project, Brick Body Kids Still Daydream, a 12-track adventure into the mind of the Los Angeles-based MC.

Packed with intricate rhyme schemes and personal musings on everything from family to politics, the album comes with minimal features. Fellow underground rapper Sammus pops up on “Hymnal” and Has-Lo jumps on “95 Radios.” Other than that, it’s all Mike.

Brick Body Kids Still Daydream follows his 2016 collaborative project with producer Paul White, Hella Personal Film Festival. Both projects were put out by Mello Music Group, which also released Mike’s fourth solo album, Dark Comedy, in 2014.

    1. How you gonna sleep on Open Mike Eagle? I have my excuse, I was in Amsterdam today gettin lit. With all the unoriginal, half assed cRAP out there you’d think people would be more excited for an album like Mike’s. Dude is what Kendrick wishes he could be, but he’s gotta halfway pander to the street shit so it’s yaak yaak yaak! What a dumb totally uninspired line, but that’s what it takes to get a nod from the hood. It’s too bad that ‘street shit’ has to be so low quality, it makes it seem like there’s no intelligent people livin in the hood which I think we all know is not the case. But a white run music industry doesn’t want to push the conscious shit its just all about dumbing down and dumbing out. Molly, percocet. You really thought that song was hot? Your mother should have swallowed you. We all know Kenny saved that piece of crap song. And straight up Big L, Pun, Big or Pac woulda slapped the shit out of any of these corny dress wearing mofos and any of you clowns who admit to liking them. Oh well, who cares? I’m in Paris now livin the life most rappers front about. Rant over, time to pop a bottle & get back to smokin that loud. Goodnight, Amerikkka!
