While speaking with Detroit’s FOX News, rapper Obie Trice ensured fans that they can expect a more vintage sound on his upcoming album Bottoms Up. The rapper spoke briefly on the project and a number of other topics including breast cancer awareness and his label Black Market Entertainment during the interview.
“If you’ve been an Obie Trice fan or you listen to my music it’s just vintage Obie music. I’m just happy to put out another body of work. Just to be out here doing it again,” said Obie.
On top of preparing for the release of Bottoms Up, Obie has also been hard at work managing his own label which he calls Black Market Entertainment (B.M.E.).
“Black Market Entertainment is my label I started in 2010, May. Basically, I just want to bring artists [that’s] on an international level to the forefront of music,” Obie explained in a video posted on RapRadar.com. “Especially from Detroit and just this region: Chicago, Ohio, Milwaukee, things like that. It’s a lot of talent here. It’s like a melting pot for the talent. I just want to give people opportunities like Eminem gave me the opportunity. He gave D12 and Royce da 5’9 the opportunity to be international artists. That’s what I look forward to doing.”
Obie later spoke on becoming a vocal advocate of the Susan G. Komen organization and their Race For The Cure after his mother, who passed away last year, was diagnosed with breast cancer.
“I go down to Belle Isle do the Susan G. Komen walk so I’ve been doing that – when she got sick. I’m an advocate of that, pro get-rid-of-breast-cancer,” said the rapper.
Bottoms Up, which is Obie’s third studio album, will be released on April 3, 2012.

Obie been a real dude, got slept on because people just assumed he was another of Em’s weed carriers without giving him a fair listen
Dude can be funny, Introspective, do club shit, etc etc and it all comes out genuine and natural.
I will say he seems to come off the most real. His music isn’t the greatest, but to still be in the game with a new album coming out is nothing to laugh at.
I dont know what you mean by his musicisnt the greatest. If you like rap his music damn good. If you dont really like rap or are 18 or under maybe you dont know about it.
I shoulda just bought this album day 1 at Best Buy. Smh. I gotta wait for Amazon to hurry up and ship it now. Gonna be hard to stay away from leaks till then. I keep hearing that this album is dope as hell. Wouldn’t expect anything less from Obie.

Vintage Obie? F*** outta here with that BS. This album is trash and far away from “Vintage Obie”. Cheers was very good, Second Round’s On Me was okay but this right here? Pure trash, I am sorry. I was looking forward to this, but I was heavily disappointed.
