No Respek: Birdman Reportedly Cuts Contract Talks With Lil Wayne Over Jay Z Rumors

The legal feud between Lil Wayne and Birdman has entered into another tense phase, this after the Cash Money Records boss allegedly cut off contract negotiation talks with his former pupil. If the chatter behind the scenes is to be believed, Birdman feels that Lil Wayne’s recent displays of disrespect are grounds to discontinue their communication.

The two were apparently close to having a talk to settling a $51-million lawsuit launched by Weezy related to the terms of his contract with Cash Money Records, according to TMZ. Lawyers on both sides had the meeting in their sights until Birdman was alerted to Wayne’s recent performance of the track “I’m Me” in which he changed the lyrics to seemingly reflect an allegiance with Jay Z’s Roc Nation label.

Wayne has also dragged Cash Money’s name through the mud in several performances this year.

Sources further told the outlet that Birdman and Hov have their own simmering beef going on, thus leading to this current stance of silence. Wayne’s connection to Jay Z isn’t new, this after he almost signed with the label prior to Birdman stepping in and offering a larger deal along with throwing in the Young Money Records imprint to sweeten the pot.

No official comments have been published on the matter from either side.

    1. Wayne being a backstabbing bitch than usual. Why go to jay z who cares more about pop artists than his own rap artists when birdman accepts all hiphop artists?

      1. Birdman accepts all hip hop artists, pays none. That’s why. Wayne didn’t leave just to leave, he left because he birdman owes him (or he feels birdman owes him) a large amount of money. Whether he does or doesn’t remains to be seen, but Wayne feels he was robbed by his daddy.

    2. It’s yet another lovers’ quarrel. They’ll kiss and make up soon, just like they always done in the past.

      1. People have been saying that forever. It’s like saying detox gon drop. They’re done with each other, or at least Wayne is…

    3. Whatever happened with the murder=for=hire lawsuit against Birdman? He tried to kill lil wayne. And what about the $50 million lawsuit by Turdma against Jay-z for Wayne releasing an album on Tidal? Lazy journalists, Twitter journalists. Go back to school

      1. The dude that birdman hired to kill lil wayne got charged and is doing time. The feds couldn’t find any connections that birdman was involved but the dude was from young thug camp

    4. Do people still really believe this pop beef s***. If he was really owed any money, he would be able to go court and collect that. Why does every publication pretend the ball is in Birdmans court?

    5. fuck beef! I wish Birdman, Young Thug, Lil Wayne and Drake formed a supergroup, the real black Beatles…. nah mean? these artists are my idols and I consider them as legends especially Young Thug!!! swag
