Nicki Minaj Issues Emotional Plea Following PnB Rock’s Death: ‘Let’s Educate ASAP’

Nicki Minaj has delivered an impassioned plea to her rap peers and their entourages following the tragic death of PnB Rock.

The 30-year-old Philadelphia native was shot and killed during a robbery at the Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles in South Los Angeles, California on Monday afternoon (September 12).

According to police, Rock (real name Rakim Allen) was at the restaurant with his girlfriend when a suspect approached them and demanded jewelry. After a verbal exchange, the suspect fired multiple shots at the rapper and fled in a getaway vehicle.

The “Fleek” hitmaker was rushed to a local hospital, but was pronounced dead at 1:29 p.m. local time, leaving behind a girlfriend and two daughters.

Following his death, Nicki Minaj was among the horde of Hip Hop stars who mourned PnB Rock’s passing on Twitter, calling her “Fendi” collaborator a “pleasure to work with.”

However, the Queens, New York native also questioned his girlfriend’s decision to share a location-tagged photo of their Roscoe’s date on her Instagram Stories prior to the shooting.

“After Pop Smoke there’s no way we as rappers or our loved ones are still posting locations to our whereabouts. To show waffles & some fried chicken????!” she began. “He was such a pleasure to work with. Condolences to his mom & family. This makes me feel so sick. Jesus. #SIP #PnbRock.”

From there, Nicki pleaded with her fellow Hip Hop artists to “educate” those in their inner circle about the dangers of posting their whereabouts on social media, which she warned could lead to them being targeted by violent criminals.

“The ppl around these rappers gain so much. It’s time to start really reminding them over & over!!!” she added. “At least TRY to put your foot down if you CARE! Tell them!!! You’re not loved like you think you are!!! You’re prey!!!! In a world full of predators!!!! What’s not clicking???!!!

“As a RAPPER & as a MOTHER. I know 1st hand how these guys feel coming from the streets then being able to provide for their moms. My heart is hurting for the MOTHERS OF THESE KIDS that tried to make something better of their lives!!! LETS EDUCATE ASAP!!!”

She continued: “It’s never the wrong time! If it saves ONE YOUNG RAPPER!!!! JUST ONE!!!!! THEN WE’VE DONE OUR JOBS!!!!! I spoke on losing our own @ the VMAS!!!! Enough is enough!!!! MY GOD. IDGAF about no fkng hate tweets!!!! Go fuck y’all dumb fkng selves!!!!!”

“Y’all r not the ones that be bawling crying after you just worked with or just spoke to ONE OF YOUR OWN!!!!! I BELONG TO THIS SHIT. IMA FKNG SPEAK ON IT!!!! If it gets attention from y’all being ignorant than so be it!!! At least it’ll save lives. FOH.”

PnB Rock’s death adds to an alarming trend of rappers succumbing to violence in recent years, following the murders of Nipsey Hussle, Young Dolph, Trouble, King Von, Drakeo The Ruler and others.

Pop Smoke, who Nicki Minaj mentioned in her tweets, was fatally shot during a botched home invasion at his rented mansion in the Hollywood Hills on February 19, 2020. The day before, the Brooklyn rapper had inadvertently revealed his address while flaunting an Amiri bag on Instagram.

LAPD detectives later discovered the group of teens behind his killing hatched a plan to rob Pop Smoke of his jewelry after seeing his Instagram post, with one of the assailants searching the address online before the shooting.

PnB Rock’s killer, meanwhile, remains at large, although the LAPD are hoping surveillance footage from inside the restaurant where he was killed will help them identify those responsible.

    1. HOW CAN RAPPERS BE MAD THEY GET ROBBED AND KILLED!!! WHAT YOU THINK THE ROBBERS AND GANG BANGERS LISTEN TO? RAP!!!! DONT BE MAD AT SOMETHING YOUR PROMOTING.

JUST GOES TO SHOW THAT SOME RAPPERS ARE NOT WHAT THEY SAY

WATCH HOW YOU MOVE IF YOU A GANGSTER LOL (RAPPERS)

      1. Boston is fucking white and racist. So your rapper comment comes from a a fucking white man’s perspective. Black People make music you dummy. We make lyrics up you dummy. It’s a art form you dummy. And ya mom’s a dummy for having you. Ignorant no care for life idiot. The first comment on here is about you. The nothing to lose era generation. Idiot

    2. This dumb bitch just made a song called Blick Blick – showcasing and promoting this same type of behavior but then will go on to make a plea. NICKI what the fuck isn’t clicking in your head? Stupid Hoe. Walking one way and Talking another way. Fuck the hiphop community as a record label, staff, and as a whole!!!

    3. To underline how dangerous it is, my wife’s niece got caught up in a gunfight out there about 5 years ago. This little girl never did shit to anybody and was a good kid. But it’s LA. It pops off anywhere. Lady GaGa’s dog walker got popped. Old white dudes are getting their shit run. So people need to stop with that it’s just this or that. The whole city is dangerous as fuck and is a hundred times worse in this nothing to lose era in general.

    4. I’M CONNECTED TO PNB THROUGH MUTUAL FRIENDS AND I HAVE MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT THIS. ITS THE WHOLE CAN OF WORMS REGARDING HOW TO MOVE WHEN YOU ARE A RAPPER IN THE ERA OF SOCIAL MEDIA. I WASN’T A FAN OF HIS MUSIC OR HIS SOCIAL MEDIA ANTICS, BUT ITS STILL A LIFE TAKEN WAY TOO SOON. MOVE SMART, STOP FLEXXING IN THE WRONG HOODS, AND DISCONNECT FROM SOCIAL. PEACE.

    5. I’m turning 36 in a few months, I barely listen to rap anywhere. It’s too negative. How about rapping on being a good dad, taking care of the family, buying your mom a house, traveling the world, good memories, romanticizing your woman…. I like shit like “Wake Me Up” by Avicii, J. Brown – “Moon”, U2 – “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For”, “Ho Hey” – Lumineers. Shit that makes you feel good and is positive. The ONLY rap song I’ve liked recently has been Lil Baby and Lil Durk on that DJ Khalid song. Even that Jay-Z verse on “God Did” was trash, and he’s my all-time favorite rapper. STOP looking up to these rappers and giving so much of your mental to them, just listen to the music as ambience and bang joints that talk that shit every once and awhile. You still see people like Charlemagne the God quoting Jay-z lyrics. “We’ll Jay-Z said …” Bro I don’t give a fuck about what he said nowadays unless it’s some life-changing Gary-Vee type shit. I’d rather watch Kevin Hart’s Hart to Heart interviews for inspiration and laughter. #Grownmanshit Rappers need to get their shit together and some time if org needs to be formed to stop senseless violence amongst rappers.

      1. It’s plenty of rap out there like that. You just have to look for it on your own. Like whenever Saba drop some shit, I’m there, and I’ve never heard him on any mainstream outlet. Get mad at the corporations that took over the game and put out this dumb shit that you hear in the mainstream. I have no idea how people can listen to all of this I’m on Demon time and Super THOT nonsense that perpetuates negativity 24/7.
