Well, the rumors are true. Nicki Minaj is indeed pregnant with her first child.
The multiplatinum-selling artist made the big reveal via Instagram on Monday (July 20) with a professional photo of her baby bump. She wrote in the caption, “#Preggers.”
Internet sleuths believed she was hiding her pregnancy during a Twitter Q&A in May and in the more recent “TROLLZ” video, her collaboration with Tekashi 6ix9ine. Throughout the visual, she never showed her stomach and if she was shot from the waist down, something was always hiding her mid-section. Fans also noted her chest was abnormally large, leading many to conclude she either had breast augmentation surgery or was — yep — pregnant.
This will be Nicki’s first child with her husband Kenneth Petty. The couple married last October after resuming an old teenage romance less than a year prior. Petty reportedly has five children of his own.

Their relationship has stirred up some controversy — mostly because of Petty’s criminal record. In April 1995, Petty was convicted of first-degree attempted rape. Prosecutors said he used a sharp object and tried to force the then-16-year-old girl to have sex. Consequently, Petty served roughly four years in a New York state prison. After Petty was released, he was convicted of first-degree manslaughter and served another seven years behind bars before being released in 2013.
He was then arrested in Beverly Hills in March on an indictment for failing to register as a sex offender in the state of California. He registered a few days later.
Nicki was once romantically linked to Meek Mill, but she confirmed she was single in January 2017.
