NBA YoungBoy, (real name Kentrell DeSean Gaulden), was performing at The Ambassador music venue when Cayden Rutherford got on stage. Although, Youngboy himself was not directly involved in the incident, an unspecified person working the show threw Rutherford from the stage during his set, when she landed on the concrete floor and a broken cable, the lawsuit, alleges.

The lawsuit, filed on Thursday (June 1) in St. Louis County Circuit Court went on to claim that Rutherford suffered a concussion as well as injuries to her neck, back and ankle — all of which continue to cause physical and mental anguish in her day-to-day.

Rutherford’s attorney, Brad Elkin of Cofman Townsley, argues that NBA Youngboy’s history of altercations with fans — notably at performances in Minnesota, Virginia and South Carolina — indicate a pattern which should have signaled The Ambassador, Major Entertainment LLC, and a security company called Elite Security to up their security efforts. But, they failed to do so.

In turn, Rutherford is seeking monetary damages from the rapper, the venue, promoter and security company.

NBA YoungBoy has not yet responded to the suit.

In other news, the rapper recently made headlines due to his longstanding beef with Lil Durk. During a wide-ranging interview with Akademiks, the OTF frontman refuted claims that NBA YoungBoy was the reason he delayed the release of Almost Healed. The album was due to arrive on May 12, the same day as YoungBoy’s Richest Opp, until it was pushed back to May 26 at the last minute.

“The last artist to sign off got my album pushed back,” he explained, although he didn’t reveal who that was. FutureJ. Cole21 SavageKodak Black and the late Juice WRLD are among the A-list guests on the project.

Further dismissing the notion that YoungBoy is his competition, the Chicago native denied using their beef to promote his upcoming album Almost Healed.

“Why would I use you for promo when I know I’m gonna outsell you?” he asked. “A muthafucka sit up here and be like,’ You gon’ outsell him but he have a bigger generational [influence].’ So who’s using who for promo? … I’ll put this on all my kids: when we were doing the ‘AHHH HA,’ all that shit, that was cool. Right now, I don’t need that lil’ boy.”
