Nas Confirms Album With Hit-Boy & Another Top Secret Project

Several Hip Hop legends stopped by the “Hip Hop Loves New York” YouTube event on Thursday (April 23).

Ice-T, Public Enemy’s Chuck D, Naughty By Nature and Nas were just a handful of artists who popped in for the Universal Hip Hop Museum and Mass Appeal benefit for New York City healthcare workers battling COVID-19 on the frontlines.

Hosted by Music Video Box pioneer Ralph McDaniels, the three-hour event featured a quick Q&A with Nas who revealed he was working on two new projects — one with Hit-Boy and another top secret endeavor.

“There’s some projects going on,” he told McDaniels. “One of them, I was working with Hit-Boy and I still am. And then there’s another, the one I’m working on that I don’t want to disclose. But Hit-Boy, that’s been fun working with him. So he played a snippet in the battles the other day, a snippet of something. We got some things.”

Nas’ latest full-length album was 2018’s NASIR, which was produced by Kanye West. In July 2018, the Queensbridge Hip Hop legend confirmed to radio host Angie Martinez a follow-up to the album was on its way.

“[There’s] another album,” he said. “I had already been working on it before I started with Kanye … half of it was already there. I did do something with Swizz [Beatz], and some stuff with RZA.”

Nasty Nas has dropped 11 solo albums over the course of his illustrious career, beginning with the 1994 classic Illmatic.

    1. No…I used to be a fan but it’s like his new material is devoided completely of soul. Sorry but I can’t stomach this version of Nas.

      1. i tend to agree with this but i think that has more to do with him rapping over shit that is out of his comfort zone. when he hops on proper boom-bap he typically snaps back into form.

      1. Hard pass….they dropped the ball on Ghetto Dreams rapping about Females….disrespectful to that beat…

    2. Nasir 2? Does this pathetic broke woman beater not learn anything? Didn’t he see how even his die hard stans trashed that album? Nas thinks he can try to score a “Niggas in Paris” hit with Hit-Boy, like King HOV and Ye but it ain’t gonna work. He’s gonna have Lil Nas X all over this album since they’re pop buddies now. Haha! It’s the ROC in here!

    3. No clown ass pop producers, no Lil Nas X, No Kanye, keep it like LT3 and he’ll have a chance

    4. Nas is rarely honest about album releases. Nas ain’t making new music like that and I’m not expecting ANY release from him.

    5. Why do people expect an album full of classics? 3/7 tracks on Nasir were dope, 1 of those has potential to stand the test of time….Adam and Eve…

    6. He going to work with 1000 top producers- still can’t BUT A HIT- BECOME A MOGUL AND SIGN ARTISTS ALREADY

OH MY BAD JAY GOT U BROKE

    7. I was so excited for NASIR produced by Kanye and it was good but it didn’t have any staying power with me or anyone else….idk if Nas will ever drop a major project again but he’s still one of the GOATS..

    8. Always will fuk wit u dude but at this point I give a fuck if u drop or not! Lol! Hold ya fuckin breath if u want….

    9. Nas is one of the greatest, but if he’s going to work with hacks like Kanye and Hit Boy and make albums like Nasir he might as well just retire.

    10. Knowledge is knowing that illmatic is arguably the best hiphop album of all time. Wisdom is knowing that Nas has more classics.

    11. Bring that heat Nas…give us at least 4 fire records on this album. Anyone remember Jay Z last album? Haha…

        1. 4:44 was fire! And I’m a Nas stan to the core. I kinda wish Hova had called that album Blueprint 4

      1. Best comment. Unsure why they haven’t done one. The best nas songs were premo produced in my opinion. They promised one way back in 2000 and were waiting on Nas to be released from his label. Wtf happened who knows
