Diddy Tells Fat Joe An Instagram Live Battle With Dr. Dre Is In The Works

The Hip Hop mogul rap fans have wanted to participate in Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s Verzuz series says he’s down to compete.

After numerous rumored matchups were discussed between the Bad Boy mogul, Jermaine Dupri and others, the one name that most unanimously agreed with was Dr. Dre.

During a recent Instagram Live discussion with Fat Joe, Diddy said something is definitely in the works.

“We definitely talking about it,” Diddy told Joe. “You heard it here, you heard it here on the show! Understand we getting money together!”

It’s not the first time the two legendary producers have been paired together. On Monday (April 20), Dre called in during the aftermath of Teddy Riley and Babyface’s record-breaking battle and offered his thoughts on participating.

“I don’t know if I’m interested man, we’ll see, we’ll see,” Dre tells his “No Diggity” collaborator. “I was going back and forth with Puff earlier today and … you and Babyface are inspirational. You guys are champions but … I don’t know if this is for me.”

Whatever the case may be, Dre and Diddy may force Timbaland and Swizz’ hand in terms of setting up an even bigger platform to host the battle.

During Babyface and Teddy Riley’s now-legendary back-and-forth, many viewers couldn’t watch the battle from either’s Instagram page, having to jump on others’ pages and watch it as if it were a Mike Tyson fight in the ’80s.

According to Swizz Beatz, over 4 million people tuned in for the battle, resulting in a doubling of streams for both Babyface and Riley’s songs as well as a massive increase in social media follows for both of them.

    1. Diddy won. The other one so busy with his sh1tty headphone merch he stopped making beats decades ago. At least diddy in the game plus has variety of diff sounds eg. That girl group. Look at dates last album, utter trash

      1. The hell you talking bout…are you one of Diddy’s bottom boys or something….is he f**king you too. He has no producing talent whatsoever…. he’s an executive producer…. meaning he just pulls strings and steals sh*t…and he’s gay AF which you definitely know..At least Dre did produce tracks at one point though and artistically guide artist and positively influenced a generation of artist…Diddy only saw opportunity for profit,Fame, and stole from his artist. Name any song that was strictly produced by Diddy? Name one artist past or present who is extremely successful on bad boy right now….MGK doesn’t count cuz he does rock rap so he’s omitted….Dre had much better track record with production and artist than Diddy ever will. Talk to anyone who was ever signed to Bad Boy in the past…. Where’s Mase,Loon,Black Rob,G Dep, Mark Curry, 112 ,Dirty Money, Mario Winans, King Los ,Red Cafe……

    2. Dre won without having to put any effort cuz Diddy has no talent besides Dancing, Running his mouth, Opening his mouth (usually to inserting phallic objects into it)
Screwing over talent, and Doing anything to draw attention to himself.

    3. Diddy gay as hell. You know he’s probably got to have hundreds of not thousands of fans only accounts that he created for his gay fanboys just in case this Pandemic happen so they can still get to see him…that’s where his revenue is really coming from nowadays…that Dirty Money…. that Last train to Paris lol

    4. Dre and Puff: two guys infamous for taking credit for other people’s beats. Turning the volume up on snare and all of a sudden the credits read “Produced by Dr. Dre”. “Produced by Puff Daddy”.

    5. Diddy got more longevity than Dre, he didn’t take all the hiatuses (rehab) that Dre did. Plus the catalogue is more solid, spans different genres etc for Diddy whereas Dre has a more repetitive, distinct West Coast rap sound.

      1. Are you kidding me? Dre has been doing this since the 70s. Hes responsible for NWA, Snoop, Em, 50, Game and Kendrick. Hes dropped two albums that changed the sound of hiphop and was the founder/co-founder of two of the most influential labels hiphop has ever seen. Diddy had a moment in the 90s but that was largely due to Biggies talent and the aftermath of his death. Tell me, what major talent has he brought to hiphop since? What classic albums has he produced since? And for that matter hes not even really an actual producer. He has an ear for beats but the Hitmen do the actual production.

      2. Dr Dre finna Knick diddy out
        1. Diddy aka puffy is not a producer he is a label owner . It’s he has a limited amount of hits being a producer or a executive on some tracks .
        ?
        2. Google both and see who really the got hits Dre as hit records he produced with eminem, 50 , game , snoop , nwa , mobb deep, eve , TUPAC his label roster and him damn self so check facts before yapping

    6. I dont believe ,How anyone can put puff over dre,
Its Fucking DRE the fuckin LEGEND, people are still listening his old work, Nobody cares whether he is working or not now-a-days

      1. Diddy is a walking black caricature that needs to stop making us look so bad. He’s single handedly took us back several decades with his antics for attention and buffoonery in the past. He hasn’t done anything to contribute to the African American community unless it’s a marketing/publicity stunt for attention.

    7. Haha y’all love feeding the trolls.

Dr. Dre is a horrible has been who beats women & children. Diddy would mop and wash Dre because his beats are way more diverse. He produced J-Lo it don’t get more mainstream than that

      1. Diddy doesn’t produce….look it up….do your research.. dumbass….Dr Dre actually a lot of records for amost 30 years….Diddy doesn’t even know how to work the boards…nice try with that J Lo reference but no…stop trying to d**k ride Diddy

        1. He’s got a point. The Hitmen do all of the production that Diddy took credit for. That’s no secret everyone in the industry know that. That’s why they’re still on his payroll today and they don’t say anything cuz if they leave his credibility as a producer goes too.
