Lyor Cohen: Young Thug’s “Slime Season 3” Will Be “Buried”; Rapper’s Rep Responds

300 Entertainment executive Lyon Cohen updated the status of Young Thug’s Slime Season 3 today (March 17).

“Today in Austin, we’re going to bury Slime Season 3,” Cohen says in a video posted by DJ Akademiks. “We’re going to have a funeral procession right through South By Southwest.”

Young Thug’s video director, Be El Be, offered his explanation of Cohen’s comments.

“What Lyor meant was, dropping SS3 and getting past all the talk and this era of thug,” Be El Be writes on Twitter. “Moving forward to dropping albums and hits SS3 OTW.”

Young Thug announced the project in December. In January, the Atlanta rapper said that the project would be released February 5. On February 14, he released the project’s cover art implied that it would be released February 16.

      1. They claim to be Gods chosen, but as you can tell by Lyor’s company name 300 they are really Romans. They aren’t Gods chosen.

    1. i’ve seen him on sway when thug was there. it looked like a mix between a slave master and his slave, and a man monitoring a special needs kid.

    2. No what he means is that the project is so bad they not putting out that bullshit and wasting money on it to have 10 to 20 thousand people buying that bull shit. Atleast somebody thinks Young Thug’s music is a hefty bag of slime trash.

    3. gonna bury it because its complete trash and everyone knows it. Aint know one checking for a young thug anything, except maybe birdman trying to get up in that ass.

    4. It’s a shame this white man, has the authority to dictate when a black artist can release music to his own people. Fuckin Culture Vulture profiting off hiphop

      1. Well this white man is the owner of the label and I’m pretty sure Thug has the freedom to release music whenever he wants. He been releasing projects back to back over the last year and most recently with “I’m Up”. So what are you talking about? 300 is an independent record label for a reason. Also, what does being a culture vulture relate to his comment?

      2. Because Lyor Cohen hasnt been involved with Hip Hop for the past 30+years you dunce. Do you know who actually built DefJam or na? Rubin Russell Simmons and Lyor Cohen.

      3. Actually, Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin founded the company in 1983. Let’s get the facts correct. Lyor Cohen had nothing to do with “building def jam” . Lyor Cohen became president in ’88.
