Lupe Fiasco Requests That Former Army General Run For President

Lupe Fiasco asks Stanley McChrystal to run for president.

In a message sent on Twitter earlier this week, rapper Lupe Fiasco expressed his belief that retired United States Army general, Stanley McChrystal would be able to combat inner-city violence if he was to become president.

“Dear @StanMcChrystal We could use your leadership skills in combatting inner-city violence. Sincerely, LFPS (please run for POTUS),” Lupe Fiasco wrote in a tweet sent on May 10.

As of today (May 12), McChrystal has not responded to Lupe’s unexpected request.

The Chicago lyricist, who hasn’t voiced his approval of any of the current presidential candidates, has been quite vocal in his criticism of President Barack Obama. In 2011, he referred to President Obama as “the biggest terrorist,” during an interview with CBS News’ “What’s Trending.”

“To me, the biggest terrorist is Obama in the United States of America,” Lupe said. “For me, I’m trying to fight the terrorism that’s actually causing the other forms of terrorism. The root cause of terrorism is the stuff that the U.S. government allows to happen, the foreign policies that we have in place in different countries that inspire people to become terrorists. And it’s easy for us, because it’s really just some oil that we can really get on our own.”

Lupe Fiasco’s tweet to former general, Stanley McChrystal, can be found below.
