LL Cool J has already cut his teeth in the music and film industries, now the legendary rapper is looking to add technological entrepreneur to his résumé. According to The Boombox, Ladies Love Cool James has teamed up with Sony and his own social network site Boomdizzle to launch a new production software My Connect Studio.
My Connect Studio gives musicians the opportunity to record music with each other from entirely different locations. Inspired by email replacing emcees and producers spending time in the studio together, LL explained at a recent press conference that the program will help connect far-flung producers and emcees live in a virtual studio
“[Producers] e-mail me the track, I’m e-mailing vocals – they don’t like something, I’m sending it back. We’re going back and forth and doing this dance,” he explained. “A lot of music is being created that way right now. What I wanted to do is be able to create music in real-time…you may get with a kid from London, you may get with a kid from Paris simply because you went on the site and visited the lobby and met somebody and went into a session and started creating. So this is the next level of music creation.”
But that is the only news that LL had at the conference. XXL reports that he also revealed that he’s planning on releasing his thirteenth solo album and that he will be using the My Connect Studio to record portions of it.
“I’m going to be doing a little bit of the album on the [My Connect Studio], make sure that it is official,” he said. “And as a matter of fact I started on my album too. It’s authentic Hip Hop, it’s the business…it’s 2012, so it doesn’t sound like it would sound if it were 10 years ago or 20 years ago, but it’s definitely official. It’s a breath of fresh air. It doesn’t sound like anything that’s out right now. I think it’s crazy. It’s the business. It’s real.”

It needs to sound like it did 20 years. Nothing but bullshit out there today. I’ll take Radio, Bigger. Walking With A Panther & Mama Said over all the bullshit out today.

if any1 never listen to EXIT 13.. u should.. it was a great album, and didnt have any new cats like lil fag wayne or drake or WIZ california whatever his ass calls himself.. listen to Exit 13.. it was good album
I respect LL for what he has accomplished from in his career from 1985 to 1997 (from Radio to Phenomenon) … but what came right after this era was straight garbage and contributed to jeopardize his legacy as the famous mc he was known for
still I respect the man but please, stick to acting. music is done for you brother
umm.. u callin his 2000 G.O.A.T. featuring James Todd Smith album garbage? stop hating.. listen to that album, slept on as well as Exit 13
if he’s about to lick his lips a fuckin hundred times and takes his shirt off to show his oiled body on cameras he can stay out of the music business
what we want from him is what we knew him for when he started back in 1985 to the mid 90’s
other than that is really not necessary
LL must be bored…If you are at Target or best buy and you have his CD in your hand then you need to look at your life and fix a couple of things…Sad to see legends grasping at straws…
You’re right, I would quickly put it down realizing that 1, this isn’t a record store, and 2, I already have his first five albums.
HEY YO L…
PLEASE DONT RELEASE THAT ALBUM NIGGA.
PEACE.
it seems like someone got to pay the bills since the NCIS tv show aint givin him enough
LL Cool J=GOAT
“since the NCIS tv show aint givin him enough”
He probably gets a couple hundred thousand an episode, and is currently worth $80 million dollars. Don’t cry for Todd.
I will no doubt cop it when it drops just to support a legend I’ma admit Todd Smith was bollocks but his last offerin Exit 13 I respected him for doin him he didn’t try to follow bullshit leads.
