Lil Wayne Teases Meeting For “Tha Carter V” Release Date

Lil Wayne finally appears to be making progress in his efforts to drop Tha Carter V album. During an appearance at Story nightclub in Miami, Weezy told fans he had a meeting to discuss a potential release date for the long-awaited LP.

“Just to let y’all know I had a meeting today,” he said. “It wasn’t a long meeting. Just so y’all know, the meeting was about the release date of Tha Carter fucking V.”

Earlier this month, a path for Tha Carter V’s release was cleared when Wayne’s legal battle with Cash Money Records came to an end. Weezy officially split from his longtime label as part of the agreement, but his album will still be handled by Cash Money’s parent label Universal Music Group.

Tha Carter V has gone through years of delays since its original announcement in 2012. While Wayne has been unable to drop the LP, he has still managed to release projects such as the Free Weezy Album and the DJ Drama-hosted Dedication 6 mixtape.

    1. please dont. hip hop is coming back strong. we’ve had some great albums this year. best hip hop year in a decade. we dont want nicki minaj, lil wayne and drake albums. Pusha, Royce, J Cole, Skyzoo, Black Thought have all released dope music. The east coast sound is returning. please for hip hops sake stay away my man.

      1. I think 2012 time period was much better than this year. Good kid mad city, control system, oxymoron, asap rocky albums, Nas life is good, Eminem mmlp 2 much better than Revival,…..
J Cole was better before he got famous, pusha album was as expected, nothing amazing, not bad. The new Nas album isn’t great. Royce releases music every year, so him dropping music isn’t a new thing, he’s very consistent.

Overall, bad year for hiphop in the mainstream in my opinion.

      2. Man. Guess we all have our opinions…older Kanye was fire too. He still has the potential to drop fire, because he’s still Kanye. And if he does, Wayne does too. I agree tho, Wayne has disappointed me in the past few years. But, I think this could be what we’ve been waiting for. Also, Drake is not hated by everyone. Last album wasn’t that great, but I’d rather vibe to Drake when running, working out, or just vibin, than just about anybody. Just my opinion and taste.

    2. he should leak original version kinda like c3 and make an updated version. either way there will be a lot of features…hope he doesnt get merked by features like c4

    3. Wayne better bring some fire and hunger on C5 after what he’s been through these past few years. I haven’t been feeling him that much ever since he got out of prison.

    4. #1 overrated artist of all time watch this will be a 4 to 7 track EP even though he has like 25 to 30 tracks ready to go f**k this spazoid chump S M H
