Lil Wayne’s long-discussed Funeral album is set to arrive in 2020. Weezy’s next studio LP is scheduled to drop on January 31.

The Young Money boss announced the release date and shared a snippet from the upcoming project via social media on Thursday (January 23). He also unveiled a link to his online store for pre-orders of the album.

Digital and physical copies of Funeral are available for pre-order along with a variety of album-related merch, including t-shirts and hoodies. Each item on the site comes with a digital copy of the LP.

Fans can purchase the album on its own for $14, but a package deal with the digital LP and a sticker pack is actually cheaper at $13. Cassettes are on sale for $16, CDs for $18 and vinyl for $36.

Funeral will be Wayne’s follow-up to his oft-delayed Tha Carter V LP, which dropped in 2018. That project was his first studio album to not be released by Cash Money Records following an extensive legal battle with his former label.

    1. If any black artist realize an album niggas will say it’s fire…but when em realize a very dope album all the black community comes out to attack him without even listening to the fuxking album

          1. That’s a disgusting thing to hope on any human being. I’m sure your just a low quality troll, but if USA were to ever be nuked, it would be California, New York, or DC. Aka, the most liberal cities in America. Aka, the most anti Trump places in America. By the way, I am logging your IP and reporting you to the FBI for openly supporting ISIS. Perhaps you will be looked into as a threat?

      1. Nobody is checking for this album. Carter V was different because it was so delayed people were curious but it was trash…

    2. If anybody was waiting for a new Lil Wayne album, save yourself some time and money and just listen to his last 3 albums. Dude ran out of ideas like 7-8 years ago. I guarantee the new album sounds just like the old ones

    3. So are people still checkung for dude? Must be the biggest falloff in rap history, no? Went from being arguably the most popular rapper at one point and having huge successes under him like Nicki and Drake, to now being sort of completely forgotten.

Serious question: is anyone even checking for dude in 2020?

      1. Suck It Triple H. You must be misinformed. His last album was number 1 on the billboard 200 upon release and certified platinum. Wayne is in the conversation for best ever based on accolades alone. Lyrically he’s still dope. This will be a number 1 album guaranteed.

      2. Proves he was a glorified pop rapper, who fall off quickly. Legends continue to release music the masses still anticipate.

      3. No fan here, but you probably missed out on the fact his last album “Tha Carter V” went platinum. He might’ve lost some fans along the way, but still enough people checkin for
        him, certainly no fall off.

      4. That’s kind of the history of hip hop. No, check that, the history of music. Michael Jackson sold 80 million copies of thriller and no one was checking for his next album drop when he died. Not to mention that the two people you mentioned, especially Nicki, aren’t exactly popping these days like they once were.

      5. Obviously HHH ain’t checking for him, but we talking about a legend here regardless if you like his shit or not. Dude been around for 20+ years and still had a #1 album last year. You prob a Blueface guy huh? He’ll be a legend someday, I’m sure 20 years from now my kid will telling some donkey that people are still checking for the legend Blueface right? Your comment got “dumbass” written all over it man

    4. On the rise of his career he dropped a few good albums (e.g. Tha Block is Hot and 500 Degrees) but since the mid-2000s he has only a handful of good songs. IMO Juvenile had much more potential to be a superstar, but he fucked it up or maybe he just didn’t want to be the no.1. rapper of the full retards.

      1. No way man…Juve had a voice that’s it. Even at like 13 Wayne was the standout at Cash Money. He’s def on the weaker side now, but I mean dude been in the game for over 20 years

    5. Fuck you. Son of a bitch. Mother fuckers. Mother fuckin piece of shits. Mother fuckers. Fuckin cock suckers. Fuck you.

      1. It’s amazing that this gets allowed to be posted but other things don’t. The inconsistencies in what you allow is a joke.

      2. Great, it’s the angry gay guy again… Stop trolling on every post…it’s really getting old. Lil Nas X won a couple Grammys…calm down… no need to still be so hostile.

      1. Big Sean, Lil Baby, Jay Rock, Adam Levine, 2 Chainz, Takeoff, The-Dream, Lil Twist, XXXTentacion & the homie O.T. Genasis

    6. Not a bad album. It’s like something that’s mixed with R&B and hip hop. It sounds like this is where his head is in life. Not sure if this is something for the kid though. Probably my lady or something.

    7. Never been a Wayne fan, have always been a Wayne hater actually… Always down to hear a new album, and this shit has wayyy wayy too much auto tune! It ruins it! That song Mama Mia? Pretty raw and dope, and if it didn’t have auto tune, it would be a certified banger for me… It just kills it for me sadly.

      1. If you like shit hip hop and Mediocre lyrics that dont make sense and mean nothing. Hope you and the other 3 people that like this album can keep him a float.

    8. The one with Jay Rock is dope….I could hear a Nas killing that type of beat. The rest of the album sucks though….

      1. Spitting while saying absolutely nothing. I forgot how bad he was with lyrics and his corny punchlines

    9. People are talking like he just fell off now.?? Carter V was shit too and everybody was acting like it was the best thing to come out in hip hop that year. It was garbage Thats 2 albums worth of music and I think there was maybe 2 or 3 songs in total of both albums that were o.k.
This why Baby did not want to release the album because he knew it was bad. He wanted Wayne to reinvent himself, But he stuck to the same formula he was using 6 years ago, He’s done.

    10. So, all you people whom didn’t like Eminems last album – What do you think about the Funeral by Wayne? Just to make a summary of Wayne’s new album: It was completely trash! Everything was trash, lyrics + beats(the beat for “Ball Hard” was the only one which was ok). No normal person can think that any song on this album was good.

      1. As big of a fan that I am of Wayne, I gotta agree with you. I utterly disappointed with this album. I don’t wanna say that he’s fell off or his reign is over, but damn weezy, what the hell is this.

    11. I don’t get the Lil Wayne hype. Personally always thought Lil Wayne was trash let alone in a conversation amongst one of the greats. This man is the most overrated rapper in histiory. What he did in the 90s/ early 2000s was decent. nothing life changing but I actually can dig his old school south style, but overall he is a wack artist.

      1. Yes, Wayne is overrated…but that doesn’t make him wack. I see this misconception a lot…like me personally, I think Beyonce is the most overrated pop star in history. However, I don’t think she’s wack…i just see her as dis-proportionally famous for her material. She’s considered a GOAT…she’s good, possibly great, but a GOAT she is not, which makes her overrated to me. I feel the same about Wayne

    12. Damn Wayne…Can we get a mature album for once? This dude has been making music for 20 year olds for the last 20 years. I pass. Carter 3 seems to be the line between good/trash Wayne

      1. the reason Carter 3 sounded the way it did was because a lot of songs got leaked so he went back to record songs that had autotune and dumbass metaphors. You can obviously tell which songs on there was before the leaks… i.e. Comfortable, Tie My Hands, Dont get it, dr carter etc.

      1. Lil Wayne is the reason all those marble mouth face tattooed colored hair junkie mumble rappers exist. LOL

    13. Yes! Mainstream Hip Hop is finally dying. More mediocrity by Wayne. Nas is dropping lazy music coasting off of investments. Jay is at an all time boujee liberal high. Em remakes the same themes. Drake is still giving the masses simp daddy issue beige rage music. Trap still sounds the same. Dre needs five producers to make sampled songs with three ghostwriters. All mainstream female rappers do is beef with each other and drop basura caliente. These are great times! Now read Acts 7 and you’ll find out we’re the people of the book and shouldn’t settle for less by consuming garbage and taking loans out from imposters just for a car note and some chains

    14. Carter 3 was the last great wayne album. It had great concept records and also dope club and street records. It was well balanced. Funeral album is so trash. It feels like a mid life crisis rapper making music for teenagers. Its so bad. Wayne needs to grow up, Jesus.

    15. Drove out to LA today to visit family.
I listened to this album while driving on the freeway.
I liked a couple of the tracks. Honesty as a whole album it was pretty wack.

    16. Damn. I thought it was just me. I listened to the funeral album and was thinking wtf. This is what Wayne gives us. 24 tracks and none of them really stand out as that summer banger or even a good lead single imo. I’ve always felt Wayne was overrated but still a great rapper. Carter 1,2,and3 are all fire. But he has been surpassed by his protege Drake a long time ago imo.
