Lil Nas X Admits He Tried To Pray The Gay Away

Lil Nas X recently sat down with CBS This Morning’s Gayle King to talk about coming out as gay earlier this year. The “Old Town Road” creator opened up about when he first realized his sexuality and revealed he prayed it was only a phase.

“I knew, especially around my teenage years,” he told King. “I was just like praying, praying, praying … that it was like a phase [or] go away.”

As the interview continued, Nas X explained how his fame made coming out less difficult.

“Me being in this position, it’s easy for me,” he said. “But like some little boy 10 miles from here, it’s not going to be good for him.”

King then asked if Nas X felt coming out as a celebrity would make things better for others. He believed it was beneficial but also noted how it could affect his fans.

“I think it’s gonna always help,” he stated. “We still have a long way to go because it’s not like everybody is like messing with me now. ‘Cause, of course, somebody who’s listening to me in school right now, it’s like, ‘You gay ’cause you’re listening to him.’ So, it’s like it’s still a lot to be done.

Nas X’s meteoric rise in the music industry led to his hit single “Old Town Road” becoming the longest-running No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100. But the rigors of his newfound fame recently prompted him to take a break from music and cancel two festival dates.

    1. There is only one true Nas and he doesn’t like butt sex with men, you can’t replace him in history.

      1. Fake news. Nas ended up being cool with Jayz after the beef. So yes, he did bow down and take that booty. It’s actually a vor of underground hipgop knowledge that Jay bent over for the big execs. Hiphop is ridiled with gay sex and closeted studio gangsters.

      1. They kinda already did with Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Pump, Lil Xan, Lil B… they’re all proud members of the LBGTQ hip hop community.

    2. There is no opportunity in the US today that is withheld due to race, gender, or sexual preference …. he should be more concerned with the fact that he is a one hit wonder that won’t have a real career

      1. How many years would it take you to make the $3 million he made from that song at your “real career?” Just curious. Please do not diminish the struggles or accomplishments of young black men.

      2. wow glad we live in an idyllic utopia, where nothing needs changing! that’s really convenient for the people in power 🙂
