Lil B Has Lost Control Of BasedGod Curse, XXL Says

Lil B is no longer in control of the BasedGod curse, according to XXL.

The rapper started the curse in 2011 when Kevin Durant dissed him on Twitter.

“By Lil B’s own admission, the BasedGod Curse is placed on someone who steals B’s swag or does not pay homage to the BasedGod,” the magazine says.

It cites the Golden State Warriors’ poor performance in game two of the NBA Finals as evidence that the curse is still going strong. Unlike his previous curses, Lil B seemingly did nothing to put the curse on the Warriors. In the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, center Marreese Speights went up for a dunk and the ball bounced off the rim. Someone found one of Speights’ tweets from 2011 saying, “Lil b is terrible.”

“Cue the ominous music,” XXL says. “It’s obvious what happened next: the Warriors lost that game in particularly painful fashion and they lost last night too, putting them down 2-1 in a series that many had predicted they would dominate. Making things even more awkward is that Lil B hasn’t mentioned Speights on his preferred method of communication, [Twitter.]”

He did threaten the curse on the Cavaliers, but retracted when Cleveland player and rapper Iman Shumpert showed love to Lil B on Twitter.

When Durant was injured this season, Lil B claimed it was because the curse is still on the MVP.

Lil B also placed the curse on James Harden for copying his dance. The rapper lifted the curse during the Western Conference Finals, but the Houston Rockets lost to Golden State in five games. Harden had 12 turnovers in the series finale.
