The highly-anticipated Black Panther soundtrack has finally arrived.
In January, word got out that Black Panther director Ryan Coogler handpicked Kendrick Lamar and Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith to serve as producers on the long-awaited film’s soundtrack. Just over a month later, fans can hear Black Panther: The Album in all its glory.
Curated by Lamar, the 14 star-studded tracks include appearances by Travis Scott, The Weeknd, Future, 2 Chainz, Mozzy and most of the TDE roster. The project should only add to the hype for Black Panther, which hits theaters on February 16.

Kendrick Lamar hit Twitter to tease the long-awaited Black Panther: The Album on Wednesday (January 31). The 12-time Grammy winner confirmed the release date, writing, “Black Panther The Album 2/9” alongside a first look at the cover art and track listing.
The 14-track offering is executive produced by K.Dot and TDE boss Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, and serves as the soundtrack for the predominantly black-cast Marvel Black Panther film, which hits theaters on February 16.
The soundtrack lists Kendrick and several fellow TDE members (SZA, ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock) in the credits, along with 2 Chainz, Khalid, Jorja Smith, Swae Lee, Future, The Weeknd, SOB x RBE, Mozzy and many more.
First impressions of the film have been overwhelmingly positive, with DX’s Editor-in-Chief Trent Clark calling it “an amazing, culturally relevant addition to the MCU” after seeing the Hollywood premiere earlier this week.

I expected SZA, Isaiah Rashad, Sir and Lance Skiiiwalker on the tracklist. To be clear, I hoped this soundtrack to feature only T.D.E artists. However, I’m going to cop it. T.D.E.’s always on point when it comes to deliver some quality music.
For real… where is Isaiah Rashad at ???
Bullshit Pop artists.
You think Schoolboy Q is a pop artist?
Tracklist looks pretty trash
It should have been a RZA helmed soundtrack for such a movie.
Can anyone make a decent rap/hiphop album anymore? It’s always pop albums now. I like the guy who commented below me that said RZA shoood bendojng prodiction. For a black panther vibe you’d expect more of that vintage Tupac sound, not the radio sounding tracks that have been released already.
RZA’s production and 2Pac are washed up ! Nobody listen to their music like that anymore. It’s 2018 mothafucka. The 90’s era is dead. It’s time to let the new generation such as Kendrick, Schoolboy Q, Isaiah Rashad, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, Vince Staples, J. Cole, etc to shine on. They took the torch and they’re doing there thing now. All these bitter rappers from the 90’s must step back.
Dumb Ass, the new generation listen to the new rappers. The old generation listens to the old rappers. Because something is new don’t make it better. I’ll take a 28 year old with good pussy than a young hoe with h loose pussy
Yeah and they eat Burger King and wears Reebok. What does it have to do with music ?
Drake is 32, jCole is 33, Kdot is 30, Big Sean is 30. Them motherfu*^ers are not that young
I see what you mean, but cmon man. Compare kendrick from 2010 to kendrick now. His music was more raw back then. More raw talent. Less pop. More hiphop. Kendrick and Cole got big because people yearned for an older sound. Nobody can claim that Kendrick and Coles come up music wasn’t Moreno oldschool in terms of style than their new crap. It’s pop rap, not hip hop… that’s song “kings dead” is garbage, aside from Jay Rock… even though his verse wasn’t actually good, it just sounded good flow wise. Call me oldschool, but I’d rather have a kendrick and jay rock track with a raw hiphop beat and no voice tweaking than a pop/trap beat, with auto tune and pitch changing. But, hey man, at the end of the day, to each his own! If you enjoy it, that’s good for you. I wish I did, as I was a hardcore kendrick Stan from 2009 to til about 2013. Just too poppy to me… and to think, kendrick wasn’t once referred to as the reincarnation of PAC…. not even close at this point. He may never even top GKMC
I understand what u saying but u gotta go back and listen to illmatic sometimes
9. “King’s Dead”
Spoiler alert?!
You must have never read the comic book … smh…
You dumbass. I prolly know more about bp than you do. You prolly started getting into comics when Ironman came out and thought you were a guru after learning about them.
Hell you prolly think bp can beat jon stewart.
You sound triggered.. your mad so now your just assuming you know more about comics than this dude and that he started reading after Ironman came out? Lol yet you have no proof of any of that.. you are reaching homie.. relax and take that L nerd.
I see Jorja Smith on here. Drake made The Weeknd and Jorja Smith more well known acts and Kendrick wants in on the action. And *gasp* he made Kendrick famous too. How ironic. The 6ix God is always one step ahead of the game, yet he’s still the most hated. OVO > TDE. Real ting, ya kno? #DrakeIsLoveDrakeIsLife #DrizzySZN #IOnlyLoveMyBedAndMyMommaImSorry
TOO MUCH DRAKE DICK IN YOUR MOUTH ….TDE over OVO any day , wonder when was the last time drake actually wrote his own lyrics btw he keeps ducking kendrick just like everyother artist … Kung fu kenny !
SPEAK THAT SHITTTT!!!!!
hahahaha best post of the year mate
He said “Real Ting”. LOL. Perfect fake jamaican accent to shout out his Gaynadian homie. LOL. GTFOH with fake ass Drake. It’s not 2016 anymore. His fake click farm shit isn’t working any longer. Dude needs to come out of the closet already. Drake put out gay ass The Weekend. Dr. Dre put out out K.Dot, Em, 50, Snoop… no comparison. Dumbass.
Track 8 looks promising.
Wtf eminem should’ve slaughtered this album not Kendrick
yeah, put a white dude in a soundtrack for BLACK PANTHER. A movie with an almost exclusive black cast premiering in African American month. Eminem is a GOAT but he doesn’t need to be doing everything all the time. relax.
Y’all get trolled so easily lol
After that hideous album Eminem put out last month, I think it’s better to have TDE lacing this soundtrack.
needs more joyner lucas!
I thought Mobb Deep was on this?
What made you think that?…
Prodigy had a Black panther song for the comic book.
2pac should been on this album, squash all these cats…peep 2 Pacs Panther Power…wtf? Ppl sleeping…
Damn. Of course I haven’t heard this. But the Kendrick/Scott track alone has me excited to hear this. Almost as excited as I am to finaly see this movie.
And Slaughterhouse!!!!!!!
Shoutout to Kendrick for putting Sjava,Reason Babes Wodumo ans Saudi on this South Africa stand up…
Looking forward to the movie an soundtrack!! Shout out to TDE. If you reading this do yourself a favor and checkout the the Black Panther animated series that was out several years ago on BET straight fire!!… Also checkout the series Black Lighting on the CW station it’s very relevant to the black Amerikkkan experience.. An the women in it are fine as funk!…as always support quality Hiphop y’all!
Biggest stats my ass. Theh need a drake feature to make this listenable.
Lmao. Bum.
Drake is wayyy too garbage to be on this masterpiece
Drake doesn’t write his own rhymes… Nuff said.
and he uses vocoder…
Drake will definitely kill the vibe of this AOTY contender, he kills everything he’s o the past 2 years
Stacked? Not really
I haven’t liked kendrick last two albums, but this soundtrack is really really dope. I don’t even know who half of these people are on this album. This is one of the most soulful joints I’ve heard in a long time, the only song I didn’t like was king dead. This album should be a major success I’m expecting Oscar and grammy nomination for this one.
You didn’t like TPAB but like this bullcrap lol? Wtf? This is the worst of kendrick right here. Super high pitched, sounded like one of those garbage ass radio rappers. Bestrap on the whole album goes to schoolboy q or jay rock. Kendrick legit ruined this. Straight pop
This soundtrack is dope, but what is that future guy all about? I’m not into pop music so I’ve never really heard from him, but the second half of his verse can’t be serious? Is he satirical or do people like that high pitched nursery rhyme voice?
Well people listen to Nikki, so I would presume so
Am i the only one who doesnt like the khalid swae lee joint?
Yes you’re the only one.
Wack ASF.
I love Kendrick but I think it’s kind of overrated sometimes. This soundtrack is not good at all. So many trash songs.
A few good songs but the rest is wack tbh. Do we really need more generic auto tune/trap? Some of it I rock with if I’m in a lit mood but this was clearly made to appease mainstream rap/pop fans and a little bit for the theme of the movie. Swae lee? Travis? Future? yeah it’s definitely that.
I like artists collaborating with Jorja Smith drake and now Kendrick – good looking
This is pretty disappointing. It’s radio style rap, aside from a couple of tracks. Why did Tupac have to get shot lol? Kendrick isn’t good for this. His voice is so poppy now. Maybe 6 years ago when he hadn’t a monotone, more west coast, less radio sound.
For everyone saying this is radio friendly or too poppy, well, no shit it is. It’s a soundtrack for a family Marvel movie. Anyone expecting some hardcore, M.O.P type shit on here are way over their heads.
I mean, it’s called black panther. I didnt exactly expect radio pop rap lol
why do you think it is called black panther, it is the soundtrack for the movie.
Did you think this was going to be a social conscious album just because it’s called Black Panther? This is more watered-down corporate marketing…it’s official. Kendrick is on the tit of interscope. Creativity is being controlled. Shame.
