A judge recently ruled for Kanye West‘s criminal record to be cleared, TMZ reports.
The Life of Pablo rapper sought to have his record expunged after he was charged with battery and attempted grand theft in 2013. The charges came after an altercation with the paparazzi.
West reached a plea deal in 2014 and fulfilled his sentencing, which included community service and a two-year probation.

Kanye West has fulfilled his sentencing stemming from a 2013 battery and attempted grand theft case where he got into an altercation with the paparazzi and he is now seeking to have the case removed from his criminal history.
TMZ reports that West filed paperwork to have his criminal record expunged and that the request is “almost guaranteed” to be approved by a judge.
West reached a plea deal in 2014 on the charges after an altercation with a paparazzi at Los Angeles International Airport. Since then, he has more than fulfilled his 250 hours of community service by assisting students at L.A. Trade Technical College with his fashion expertise. He has also upheld the two year probation.

Kanye West has been charged with battery and attempted grand theft, reports TMZ.
The charges stem from a July 19 altercation this year when West was caught on camera trying to physically take a camera from a photographer who spoke to West as the rapper exited LAX airport.
After the altercation, the photographer went to the hospital and filed a lawsuit, which the photographer’s lawyer says left him badly injured.
If convicted of both crimes, which are misdemeanors, Kanye faces up to one year in prison. He will be arraigned on October 10.
Kanye was originally named a felony suspect for attempted robbery, but those charges were rejected by the Los Angeles County District Attorney.

I don’t believe celebrities should be allowed to force through legal injunctions to prevent (potentially embarrassing) stories being printed, but I do think they should be allowed basic freedom of not being harassed every time they walk down a street.
