Joyner Lucas is one of over 150 acts set to take the stage at Lollapalooza 2022 in July, but he’s less than happy with where his name appears on the festival’s lineup poster, which was revealed earlier this week.
On Wednesday (March 23), the Massachusetts-raised rapper took to Twitter to voice his displeasure with his position on the Lollapalooza lineup (his name sits roughly halfway down the poster) while taking shots at one of the festival’s headliners, Machine Gun Kelly.
Lucas also claimed he turned down the opportunity to perform at the festival after being offered a less-than-satisfactory fee, so is shocked to see his name on the lineup. He’s demanding to be removed from the bill entirely.
“These festivals is gon stop playing with me like I ain’t that n-gga,” his Twitter rant began. “Putting my name next to the names of a bunch of random n-ggaz that nobody heard of and offering me a weak ass [bag]. Then I say no to the offer and these hoe ass n-ggaz put me on the flier anyways. @lollapalooza.
“N-ggaz is on gon start putting respek on my name. For years I been getting these weak ass offers like I’m some lil n-gga. Then n-ggaz who ain’t even on my level or doing my numbers is getting put in BIG LETTERS while they write my shit hella small on the flier.! How sway?!!”
He added, “I’m the biggest independent artist period with the exception of my n-gga tech [9ine]. And I got the numbers & the fans & the [money] to back that statement up. How is it that these festivals keep tryna bunch my name up with a bunch of n-ggaz who ain’t on my level?. n-gga I’m JOYNER LUCAS.”
Joyner Lucas then directed his frustration toward Lollapalooza co-headliner Machine Gun Kelly, posting a photo of the rap-rocker showing off his black-painted tongue and painted nails at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards with the caption, “Then you got this goofy ass n-gga headlining? Smh how sway?”
He continued by referencing Eminem‘s 2018 MGK diss track “Killshot,” threatening to inflict more damage to the 31-year-old if he chooses to engage.
“someone said ‘don’t bring out the rap devil’… maaaaannnn listen,” he added. “Lol What my brother Marshall did to this n-gga @machinegunkelly is light compared to what’s waiting if he wanna walk down that street wit me. Ain’t nobody worried bout a n-gga who paints his nails. foh.”
Neither Lollapalooza nor Machine Gun Kelly have responded to Joyner Lucas’ remarks, although Kelly did like a tweet after the fact that read “From now on (really starting in 2018) anyone talking shit about @machinegunkelly is doing it for clout and is therefore irrelevant.”
Lollapalooza 2022 is set to take place at Chicago’s Grant Park between July 28 and 31. J. Cole, Doja Cat and Lil Baby are among the other headliners, with Big Sean, YG, Don Toliver, Cordae, Denzel Curry, Coi Leray, Blxst and Maxo Kream also on the bill.

Joyner just jealous of my success
MGK’s corny attempt of trying to be Blink 182? He is a cornier version of the already corny Blink 182. Has it been more successful than his rap career? Yes. Is his career more cringe than ever? Yes. Does anybody take his career serious other than 12 year old white boys? No.
Yet look at how famous is MGK, while your wasting your time being some irrevalant loser.
Bruh be emotional
can joyner sound anymore wack then his raps already are? this dude more white then black. foh and im not a mgk fan
this is gayest lineup in the history of lineups. Who would want to be at an event with MachineGayKelly fans anyways? I hope Joiner gets bored and spits some shit at this lame for the fvck of it
theres other music than rap. broaden your horizon and get off your stoop.
Yeah broaden your horizon and listen to some MGK music hahaha This comment made my day. His rapping was better than this trash teenage girl “punk rock” garbage.
Joyner Lucas is dope but I havent heard from him in years. MGK (who i dont like) on the other hand, his name keeps popping up whether its in small movie roles or other stuff. Joyner is without a doubt the better MC but his career is crickets.
another white “rapper” to make money and a name off hip hop then jump to another genre, EM 50 and still keeping it rap, i guess he is different from the rest.
Joyner kinda reminds me of Game in the Respect that he loves the Hip Hop smoke! He just wants to compete against other rappers, his battles never get serious and they stay on wax! That’s the way it’s supposed to be! MGK only had that song dissing Eminem and then Homeboy was outta here! Rightfully so! Shit is wack son!
Dude got wrecked by Tory Lanez and made some wack ass disses. No where on Games level ever. He def should be up on the list but if Big Sean isn’t headlining then he should even be in the running.
