J. Prince Warns NBA YoungBoy Over Drake ‘Enemy’ Diss During Birdman Meeting

J. Prince has stepped in to ensure that NBA YoungBoy’s issues with Drake don’t go any further, warning the rowdy rap star to remove the 6 God from his “enemy list.”

YoungBoy threw shots at Drake on his latest album, Richest Opp, which arrived last week, calling him out for apparently refusing to work with him out of loyalty to YB’s fierce rival Lil Durk.

“Talked to Drake ‘cross FaceTime, he wasn’t feelin’ me/ Told me that he fuck with Durk, damn, that shit gettin’ to me/ Told me that he like the shit I’m doin’, but can’t do shit with me/ So when we cross our ways, fuck what you say, bitch, you my enemy,” he rapped on the venomous “Fuck the Industry Pt. 2.”

It appears YoungBoy’s lyrical darts were enough to make J. Prince and Birdman pay a visit to the Baton Rouge native in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he’s currently on house arrest stemming from a 2021 gun arrest in Los Angeles, in an attempt to diffuse the situation.

The feared Rap-A-Lot Records founder posted a photo of their meeting on Instagram on Wednesday (May 17) along with a lengthy message urging YoungBoy to put his disdain for Drizzy to bed.

“As you all can see, I had a good time kicking it with the homies in Utah. On behalf of the lil Homie YB, me and my brother Birdman were able to have a real conversation face to face,” his caption began. “We talked about the past, the present, and the future. But most importantly, we left each other with a mutual respect moving forward.

“Even though I wasn’t there for a meeting with bird man I must say the lord works in mysterious ways. With that being said, I must address the song where my name and drakes name were mentioned.”

He continued: “To the lil homie, as I said to you privately, I say to you publicly that Drake is my son, he roll with me. Therefore, I think it’s a good idea to take him off your enemy list because the truth of the matter is that we got nothing but love for Durk and your accomplishments.

“When I put Drake on that facetime call with you, my intent was for y’all to move forward, not backwards. Two things we get every day is a chance and a choice. The choices we make determine our destination.”

Despite his plea for peace between NBA YoungBoy and Drake, J. Prince has had his own issues with Birdman over the years. Back in 2016, the Houston rap mogul seemingly mocked Baby’s infamous Breakfast Club interview where he demanded the morning radio show hosts put “respek” on his name.

“A lot of people look hungry out there and I’m hungry up here,” he said during a speech at the GoDJ Awards. “We not gon’ beg nobody to put no respek on our name because we already respected. We’re not that kind of people. We put respek on our own name.”

Two years later, Prince called out Birdman for his “bad business” practices amid his son Jas Prince’s legal battle with Cash Money over allegedly unpaid Drake royalties. (Jas Prince is credited with discovering Drake and introducing him to Lil Wayne.)

“I always had respect for the two brothers Ronald and Bryan Williams hustle because anyone who is successful in this music business earns the respect,” he wrote on Instagram. “I’m glad to have been an inspiration to them, but you witnessed the words that came out of his mouth. And I quote, ‘His family is my family. You gotta understand thats where Drake come into play. That came from J. Nobody knows that.’

“The J that really deserves that RESPECT and to be PAID is my son @Jas.Prince he discovered @ChampagnePapi. I’ve never been a man to use the word ‘Family’ loosely because I believe life and death is in the power of the tongue. I also walk in great respect for the universal laws, one being cause and effect, simply meaning you reap what you sow.”

He added: “With that being said, I say to this man they call “@Birdman5star” don’t forget you have children and I know you wouldn’t want them to reap the seeds you have sewn by doing bad business. This is the truth raw and uncut. This is how you earn ‘Respect’ on your name.”

However, it appears as though the Southern rap moguls have since buried the hatchet.

Meanwhile, Drake wasn’t the only rapper who faced NBA YoungBoy’s wrath on “Fuck the Industry Pt. 2.” The Never Broke Again boss also took aim at J. Cole and Lil Yachty.

“J a ho, that n-gga played it cold, like he was gon’ do a feature/ So I texted his line, a muscle sign, I swear it’s gon’ be nice to meet you,” he rapped, seemingly accusing the Dreamville founder of ghosting him after they made plans to work together.

Akademiks claimed in March 2021 that the pair were supposed to hit the studio together, but YoungBoy made Cole wait eight hours and then never showed up. YB’s issues with Cole may also have something to do with him appearing on Lil Durk’s latest single “All My Life.”

As for Yachty, YoungBoy labeled the Atlanta rapper a “f-ggot” for getting “mad” about an incident involving his ex-girlfriend, City Girls star JT.

In a video posted to Twitter following the song’s release, the Louisiana native explained that Lil Boat had “checked” him for shooting his shot at JT when they were still together.
