J. Cole and Drake’s historical Dreamville Festival performance has been recapped in an epic montage that shows just how lit the night really was.

The momentous co-headlining set went down during the second and final night of Cole’s annual festival in Raleigh, North Carolina on Sunday (April 2), where the rap titans showed each other love while sharing the stage.

Cole kicked things off with a 45-minute set, during which he performed hit singles and mixtape cuts alike while bringing out fellow Dreamville representatives J.I.D, Bas, EarthGang, Lute and Omen.

While running through his fan-favorite Friday Night Lights track “Villematic,” he even pleaded with Kanye West to clear the “Devil in a New Dress” sample.

Drizzy hit the stage moments after Cole wrapped his set, and proceeded to run through a career-spanning setlist while bringing out plenty of special guests of his own, including Lil Wayne, 21 Savage, Lil Uzi Vert and GloRilla.

The Simon Chasalow-directed video captures all this and more, opening with an animated intro that sees Drake’s OVO owl swoop down from Toronto’s CN Tower — as seen on Drake’s Views album cover — and fly past various scenes from Cole’s own album covers on its way to Dreamville Festival.

Drake also posted a photo dump of the night on his Instagram, which included pictures of him and J. Cole partying at what appeared to be a Dave & Buster’s, where the festival afterparty was held. A previous video of the gathering showed Summer Walker dominating Cole at D&B’s arcade center.

Dreamville Festival 2023 returned to Raleigh’s Dorothea Dix Park on April 1 and 2, and witnessed performances from plenty of other high-profile names.

This year’s lineup also boasted Usher, Lil DurkBurna BoyJ.I.DGloRillaAri LennoxCity GirlsEarthGangSean Paul and many more.

Cole called it “the hardest festival lineup ever” on Twitter last month, moments before unveiling the lineup.

As for new music from the “In the Morning” collaborators, Cole’s longtime manager, Ibrahim “Ib” Hamad, recently gave fans a quick hint about what they can expect from the rapper’s next record, implying his next album would be The Fall Off.

Fans demanded answers in regards to the album being The Fall Off or It’s A Boy, both of which Cole teased in a 2020 post when he first announced The Off-Season, but Ib wouldn’t budge on details.

Drake, meanwhile, recently previewed a new song tentatively titled “Rescue Me,” on which he detailed his ideal woman. The BNYX-produced track also contained a sample of Kim Kardashian speaking about her divorce from Kanye West, but according to Drizzy’s father Dennis Graham, the 6 God wasn’t “trolling” Ye.

The Her Loss hitmaker is also apparently working on yet another joint project — this time with Lil Baby — South African producer/DJ Black Coffee revealed earlier this year.
