In February, DX reported that singer T-Pain [click to read] and Antares Audio Technologies (Auto-Tune developers) had plans to release an iPhone application giving users the ability to record their voices with the same vocal effect [click to read]. Now, their plans have finally come to fruition.
The two parties, teaming with Smule, an iPhone application developing company, have created “I Am T-Pain.” Along with recording voices, the application also has five of T-Pain’s popular records included for people to sing over, such as “Bartender” and “Buy U A Drank,” while other tracks are available for purchase.
Ge Wang, co-founder of Smule, told the New York Times, “There’s no shortage of celebrity apps in the App Store, but the feeling was that a lot of them didn’t capture the essence of the artist.” People can purchase the application for $2.99.
In other news, DJ AM and Nike had worked earlier on an exclusive pair of Dunks that would have the late deejay’s own logo on it. Now, because of his passing [click to read], Nike will keep the shoes off of shelves for the time being.

According to TMZ, AM (real name: Adam Goldstein) and Nike had both agreed on the final design, however, Nike has chosen to hold the product out of respect for his family. At press time, there was no release date for the shoes.
