Next month, comedian/actor Mike Epps [click to read] will host BET’s fourth annual Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta, Georgia. With the actual event set to take place at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center on October 10, BET will subsequently air the awards show October 27.

Excited about this years’ host, Stephen Hill, President of Music and Programming for BET has stated, “We embrace the opportunity to amplify all aspects of the Hip Hop culture; the music, the dance, the sense of community and as we have before, we expect to do so with excitement. And with my man Mike Epps on board as our new host, we’ll do it with reckless abandon.”

This will be Epps’ first time hosting the award show, as the last three hosts were Katt Williams [click to read] (’06, ’07) and T-Pain [click to read] (’08), respectively. Coincidently, Epps will be releasing the Hip Hop-comedy album Funny Bidness the same day as the award show television premiere.
