Houston rapper Willie D [click to read] made bail two weeks ago after being indicted for his involvement in an elaborate internet scam [click to read]. In September 2008, the legendary Geto Boys member allegedly set up an eBay account and asked customers to pay for iPhones through wire transfers to his account. The iPhones were never delivered, and eventually Willie D was arrested for fraud at the Bush International Airport in Texas.

The rapper was indicted on 15 counts of wire fraud and could face up to 20 years in prison including a $250,000 fine.

Although the Houston native made bail from the city’s correctional facility last month, the bond agreement regulates his travel and internet use to prevent further virtual crimes.

In addition to revoking his passport, the bond also requires that he be monitored by a GPS system and that he does not move beyond Texas’ Harris County and surrounding areas. However, upon his bail, Willie D‘s lawyer has expressed that both the travel and internet restrictions are hindrances to the rapper’s career. According to court documents, the bond agreements have forced him to cancel a scheduled performance in Cleveland, Ohio.
