Longtime attorney of C-Murder, Ron Rakosky, announced on Monday (April 20) that he would like to withdraw as the rapper’s defender.
Rakosky revealed that C-Murder had failed to pay him for hundreds of hours in legal fees in the past three years, according to the Times-Picayune.
Rakosky first defended C-Murder, born Cory Miller, successfully in his first trial in 2003.
Miller was convicted of shooting and killing Steve Thomas, 16, in 2002 during an altercation at Jefferson Parish nightclub.

Rakosky was responsible for having the subsequent life sentence overturned in Louisiana Supreme Court in March 2006 after it was revealed prosecutors expunged records of several witnesses for purposes of credibility.
