Earlier this week it was announced that rapper 50 Cent [click to read] would no longer be in the Sylvester Stallone-directed film The Expendables [click to read]. Now a representative for the Queens rapper is explaining why 50 Cent will no longer be in the film.
“50 Cent was offered the role of Hale Caesar in The Expendables, however as he is currently in the process of completing his forthcoming album Before I Self Destruct with Dr. Dre and Eminem he was unfortunately not able to commit to the project,” a representative for 50 Cent explained.
If chosen for the film, 50 Cent would have played the role of Hale Caesar. In a time span of only a few weeks, the role of Hale Caesar has gone from Forest Whitaker to 50 Cent to Terry Crews, the most recent choice.
Sylvester Stallone, the producer and director of the film, received a tremendous amount of criticism for his casting of 50 Cent as Hale Caesar.

“The anger of the casting of 50 Cent is understandable, but not fair,” Stallone explained to Ain’t It Cool News. “A player is only as good as his coach. If a man can communicate in one medium, he can communicate in another if his strengths are brought out and he has the support of well-wishers.”
Filming for The Expendables will begin in the near future and the film is expected to be released some time next year.
Before I Self Destruct, 50 Cent’s fourth studio album, will be released this summer.
