Platinum R&B artist Lyfe Jennings has inked his own label deal just in time for the release of his fourth album.

Lyfe recently parted ways with Sony Entertainment to form his own label under Warner Brothers Entertainment, titled Jesus Swings. With a 10 year bid in his past, Lyfe is very familiar with starting anew.

The “socially conscious” soul singer switched up management teams and has hooked up with Manny Halley, the CEO of Imani Entertainment Group, who also works with Keyshia Cole. Lyfe said he was excited about the future.

Manny is the first manager who I really feel gets me and just like he’s done great things with superstar Keyshia Cole, we’re gonna do great things together, for music and our communities.”

Mr. Halley explained the rarity of this type of deal in today’s current recession.

“It isn’t every day, let alone in an economy such as the one we have, that an artist can leave a label, ink a multi-million dollar deal and do it all with a positive message,”Halley said. “It’s a pleasure to witness good still reaping good.”
