New Jersey rapper David RUSH has sure gotten his industry reps in a hurry. Previously going by the moniker Young Boss, his single “Go Girl” caught the attention of Miami rapper Pitbull [click to read] just a few years ago, who instantly signed him to his 305 label.

Wasting no time, RUSH released his Feel The Rush Vol. 1: Signing Season mixtape last year, which included all original lyrics and beats. Realizing RUSH’s hunger, Pitbull pulled some strings and soon enough David already had his first single ready with “Shooting Star,” featuring Cash Money guitarist/singer Kevin Rudolf and Pitbull himself.

Now, with a remix version of “Shooting Star” arranged by Hollywood, California producers LMFAO hitting radio airwaves, he is just a few steps away from reaching national success.

While the remix of “Shooting Star” may paint him as a rapper similar to Flo Rida’s caliber, he believes the music released after this club jam will make listeners think twice. “I want people to think of me as a true artist and a person who really breathes and loves this,”RUSH said in a recent press statement.

Speaking on the name change from Young Boss to David RUSH, he insisted that it fits his situation as an artist now then his previous name did. “The rush for me is the rush of the game; the rush when I record and do shows; the rush of wanting to get on and help my family, myself and the people around me who have rolled with me through this whole experience.”

Continuing, he explained that his name is also in reference to Focal Glomerulosclerosis (FGS), an illness he was diagnosed with in 2007 and subsequently put his music career on hold. “It’s the rush that I’m in to get everything going, because of the health issue that I have that lessens my time here on earth; to make sure I was on my grind harder than everybody else, to get where I’m at quicker than everybody else.”

With a newfound respect for life, and promising career ahead of him, David RUSH is out to prove that he is the truth. “When people think of David RUSH, I want them to think of somebody who took it there because he had to.”

David RUSH is tentatively scheduled to release his street album, Moon Music, sometime this month, with his debut album coming later this year. For now, you can listen to “Shooting Star (Remix)” here.
