Some knew. Some did not know. Now, Wanda Sykes wants everyone to know for certain and she’s making her point clear. She is gay. She is proud and she is fighting against Proposition 8.
“You know, I don’t really talk about my sexual orientation. I didn’t feel like I had to. I was just living my life, not necessarily in the closet, but I was living my life,” she told those who attended a rally in Las Vegas that opposed the passing of Proposition 8, which prohibits marriage between gay couples.
“Everybody that knows me personally they know I’m gay. But that’s the way people should be able to live their lives,” she said before noting that she married her partner in late October.
However, now that Proposition 8 has passed, she feels as if there is a bigger need for her to speak out.

Wanda Sykes has also gone on Ellen, a talk-show by another outspoken critic of Proposition 8.
