During the Ozone Awards/TJs DJs Conference weekend, Big Boi invited press and others to an exclusive listening session for his upcoming Sir Lucious Left Foot album. Sponsored by Ciroc and Crunk Juice, the listening session took place at a suite in the Hilton Americas in Houston TX. As attendees filled the room, Big Boi made his way through the crowd to host the festivities.

Once some sound issues were handled, Big Boi introduced the album and played it in full (but in random order) for the jam packed room. Showing southern unity, Core DJs founder Tony Neal, Greg Street, Bun B and Big Boi’s former rival Killer Mike entered the room and exchanged pleasantries. Most noted was Killer Mike as some were curious whether or not the peace between the two was manufactured. That notion was put to rest as the two smiled and were clearly happy to be friends again.

The album will feature production from Organized Noise and Jay Beats as well a healthy helping of guests. George Clinton and Too Short join Big Boi on “For Your Sorrows,” Raekwon and Andre 3000 appear on “Royal Flush” and Mary J Blige pops in for the lead single “Something’s Gotta Give.” The song that floored those in attendance was “Tambourine” which features T.I. and Big Boi trading rhymes over a bass heavy production. Other songs include “Back Up Plan,” “Sir Lucious Left Foot Saves The Day,” “Terrified,” “Daddy Fat Sacks” and “Dubs” featuring Backbone.

Afterwards, Big Boi mentioned that the album was looking towards a late October release date and also said an Andre 3000 album was coming soon. But the most important statement was this:

“After Three Stacks and Myself get done with these two projects, we hitting the dungeon for another Outkast album so get ready.”
