Amber Rose is perhaps best known for dating some of the biggest rappers in the game (Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa, 21 Savage, Machine Gun Kelly), but now she’s stepping into the booth herself with the release of her debut single “GYHO.”

An acronym for “Get Your Hoe On,” the track finds the model/TV personality putting her provocative spin on the Big Tymers’ 2000 hit “Get Your Roll On.” In fact, the song was produced by the legendary Mannie Fresh, who reworks his original production and makes a cameo in the accompanying video.

“I flex on hoes/Fuck a Benz, this a Rose/Wet pussy, we slang/Freak bitch, do yo thang,” Rose raps on the hook before urging “all my bitches get your hoe on.”

“GYHO” falls right in line with Amber Rose’s approach to sexuality and femininity. Since 2015, the 38-year-old has been one of the leading faces and voices of the SlutWalk movement, an annual march in Los Angeles that protests rape culture, supports victims of sexual assault and seeks to stamp out “slut-shaming.”

While the song serves as her first official single, Rose is no stranger to the mic. During her marriage to Wiz Khalifa between 2013 and 2016, she appeared on multiple songs from the Taylor Gang chief including the Pharrell-produced “Rise Above” and “Never Been Part II” alongside Rick Ross.

While the mother-of-two dedicated several Instagram posts and Stories to promoting the track, others were less enthusiastic about her launching a rap career. “Ban Amber Rose from all recording studios,” one Twitter user wrote, while another added, “Amber Rose is 40 still screaming about being a hoe. We know. Please leave us alone, we don’t care.”

Some fans questioned the timing of the song in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, ending the 50-year-old ruling granting women the constitutional right to abortion.
