Tory Lanez attended a hearing for the Megan Thee Stallion felony assault case in Los Angeles on Tuesday (April 5), but it didn’t go as smoothly as he presumably hoped. The Canadian artist ended up being remanded by the judge until he can come up with $350,000 in bail money.

Multiple tweets from Lanez were determined to be in violation of the criminal protective order set against him. After roughly an hour of arguments, Judge David Herriford found Lanez’s social media activity had targeted Megan Thee Stallion, so he decided Lanez has violated the terms of the legal agreement.

The tweet that sealed his fate was posted on February 23 and read, “Good D*ick had me fucking 2 best friends … and I got caught … that’s what I apologized for … it’s sick how u Spun it tho.”

Judge Herriford added an additional condition to Lanez’s release, barring him from mentioning Megan Thee Stallion in any way, shape or form. The trial is expected to get underway on September 14 when both parties are expected back in court.

Lanez has maintained his innocence since July 2020 when the shooting took place. But Megan posted text messages from Lanez apologizing, which (as mentioned above) he said was about sleeping with Megan’s best friend — not shooting her.
