Kid Cudi has made a name for himself as a respected musician and the Cleveland, Ohio native has also starred in various films and TV shows throughout his career.

On Monday (April 4), Deadline announced Cudder would be joining the cast of the action-thriller titled Silent Night alongside Joel Kinnaman, Harold Torres and Catalina Sandino Moreno. The John Woo-directed film follows a man looking to avenge his son, who passed away due to gang violence on Christmas Eve. Cudi will be playing the role of a detective named Dennis Vassel.

Cudi took to his Twitter to retweet the news to his fans despite calling for a break from social media a few weeks ago. The Moon Man let fans know they were going to be in for one hell of a treat.

“It’s a good day when Deadline posts about u,” Cudi tweeted about the news on his role. “Can’t wait for y’all to see this masterpiece from the GOD John Woo. Joel what’s good!!”

The announcement comes a week after Cudi revealed on Twitter that he will be making his directorial debut with Teddy, a film based on his 2009 hit “Pursuit of Happiness.”Kid Cudi will write and star in the Netflix film with JAY-Z and Jeymes Samuel jumping on board as executive producers.
