Pusha T is still on G.O.O.D. Music — for now. On Thursday (January 27), King Push sparked speculation about his status on the label by posting paperwork from the execution of a recording contract with Def Jam while thanking Kanye West in the caption.

“Some people call you their brother, other people show you you’re BROTHERS. Thanx ‘Yezos…’ @kanyewest,” Pusha wrote, handing Ye a new nickname inspired by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

The portions of the contract shared by Pusha T didn’t make it clear what the deal means exactly, but that didn’t slow down the rumor mill, with theories suggesting the Virginia native had departed G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam or regained ownership of his masters.

Pusha’s cryptic Instagram post drew heavy praise from some of his Hip Hop compatriots in the comments section, with the likes of Jadakiss, The Game and Royce Da 5’9 lending their support.

“A win is a win,” Kiss wrote while The Game added, “As It’s Supposed to be!”

In response to the speculation, Pusha T’s manager Steven Victor spoke with Complex and clarified King Push is still signed to G.O.O.D. Music, but his upcoming album will fulfill his Def Jam contract.

“[He’s still with] G.O.O.D. Music, he’s just not signed to Def Jam anymore,” Victor confirmed. “This is his last album on Def Jam.”

According to Victor, Pusha isn’t ruling out a Def Jam reunion in the future, but his loyalty remains to Kanye West.

“I mean, we might re-sign with Def Jam, I’m just saying he fulfilled his contract obligation,” he said. “He might re-sign with Def Jam, it’s just the whole point of it is that he’s still with Kanye regardless to wherever he ends up with his next projects. It will be with Kanye.”

Victor also confirmed that Pusha T owns his masters, thanks to Ye.

Pusha T season looks to be returning very soon as he declared in an interview earlier this week that his DAYTONA follow-up — rumored to be titled It’s Not Dry Yet — will be the “motherfucking album of the year.” Kanye West and The Neptunes are reportedly producing the project in full.

In typical Pusha T fashion, the G.O.O.D. Music President set the project’s rollout in motion by posting a photo of singer Lana Del Rey with a mound of cocaine covering her face. He’s also teased snippets of coke-laced rhymes and hit the studio with the likes of Kanye, Fivio Foreign, A$AP Rocky, The Game and more.

Pusha T’s team did not immediately return HipHopDX‘s request for comment.
