Kid Cudi Is Betting Lil Nas X Ends ‘Hip Hop Homophobia’ Forever

Lil Nas X doesn’t flinch when incorporating his sexuality into his artistry. With the “Old Town Road” rapper breaking down barriers as an emerging superstar, he was named one of Time‘s 100 most influential people of 2021. His tribute was given by none other than Kid Cudi, who is slated to collaborate with Lil Nas X on MONTERO‘s deluxe.

Cudder showed the Columbia signee a ton of love and praised him for his bravery and creative freedom when it comes to his music.

“To have a gay man in hip-hop doing his thing, crushing records—that is huge for us and for Black excellence,” Kid Cudi said. “The way he’s unafraid to make people uncomfortable is so rock ’n’ roll. He’s a true rock star.”

The Ohio native believes Lil Nas X will play a major role in the acceptance of gay artists in rap.

He continued, “There’s a homophobic cloud over hip-hop, and he’s going to break that sh-t down. We have to stand with him. I’m going to do whatever I have to do to let him know—you have my support. When we do our song together, however trippy the video is, let’s get sexy with it.”

The honor comes ahead of the release of Lil Nas X’s MONTERO debut album which arrives on Friday (September 17) with features from Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, Jack Harlow, Elton John and Miley Cyrus.

      1. Phobia is a mental illness. Homosexuality is found in the thousands of living species in the world and throughout human history. Just because you don’t like something does not make it untrue.

        1. Just like you found a thousand species who fornicate with their own siblings… does this make it normal to you?? Dumb fuck!

        2. The human race should not take cues from the animal kingdom. We are created superior to animals. When a challenger male lion defeats an alpha male pride leader, he becomes the new pride leader. He also kills all the cubs of the previous alpha male. Does this sound like a practice humans should mimic? Should stepfathers kill their stepchildren? We don’t follow the behavior of animals. We’re superior and more intellectual than that.

    1. I don’t think ppl care at this point in time, do you, but we don’t need to reminded about it every 2 seconds cuh….you go be gay and be happy doing that weirdo

    2. Cudi trying waaaaaaay tooooo hard to get that LilNasX booty. You can tell with that homofied green hair and nonstop skirts that he’s really trying to get down on the gay wave. That ninja gonna change his name from Kid Cudi to Kid GiveUpDaBudi.

    3. It’s not about being gay or not. It’s about being an actual musician vs a political puppet. Ask anyone, lil nas x is a puppet first, musician last. You wanna do it right? work on your craft brother, not this same publicity stunt stuff

    4. Cudi has always been an untalented hack. He sees how the lack of talent is working for Lil’ X so he’s trying to get in his good graces.

    5. If homophobia was really an issue why are Tyler The Creator and Frank Ocean openly gay but still successful?? Oh that’s right… they put out decent music. I’m tired of these fake gay martyrs. No one cares about your sex life dude just make hits.

      1. Tyler isn’t gay dude. Relax. He isn’t openly anything. Dude only dates women and purposely says shit to trigger people.

        1. Tyler said he was gay to exploit the gay community and their resources. Now he has to backpedal because the gay community wanted to see if he was really about that life.

        2. Yea no, Tyler just exploits different demographics for their attention and promotion. He’s now making his way to hip hop

    6. uhh so a gay dude can say all this sus shit , but when normal dude tries to tell the fairy to stfu, they have a protest. this world is fucked beyond repait

    7. Unfortunately not. A lot of rap fans are still like kids mentally. And the grown up ones are scared of upsetting white Jesus lol
